There is no shortage of tasks to do and quests to complete while playing Moonlight Peaks, but fans can break up the chore list with a romantic encounter. Moonlight Peaks‘ primary gameplay loop is heavily influenced by the relationships that are built while playing, and many of these stories hold critical information on what happened to the town and why so many of its inhabitants are struggling.
To start dating in Moonlight Peaks, you will need to build relationships with everyone, as the stories of each family are intertwined. Players can date multiple townsfolk at once, and can even get married to the character who steals their heart. However, picking who to settle down with will be no easy feat – and some of the options are a bit strange.
In this guide, we will go over each character that can be romanced in Moonlight Peaks, what they are like, and where they fit in the story.

All Romanceable Characters in Moonlight Peaks
There are 23 romanceable characters in Moonlight Peaks as of its launch on July 7, 2026. Some of these characters will be introduced on the first day. Others are secret and will be hidden under a spoiler tab for those who want to bump into these special NPCs on their own. Below is everything to know about each dateable character.

The characters covered below have important story requirements that contain spoilers. They can only appear after certain requirements are met, like progressing to a specific point in the main story or unlocking late-game areas. Because of this, we have put them in their own category to prevent spoiling major plot events.

When Can You Start Dating?

The option to date characters begins at Heart Level 4. Players can then invite an eligible character to go out with them and participate in a variety of dating minigames. It is possible to fail the date. To avoid this, pay attention to instructions and show up to the date on time. Failure results in lost friendship points.
Can You Get Married in Moonlight Peaks?
Yes, it is possible to marry the character you date in Moonlight Peaks. While we have yet to reach this point in the story, it is possible to marry and settle down with the character you have chosen to date.
It is not possible to marry more than one character at the same time.
Can You Have Children in Moonlight Peaks?
No, you can not have children with your spouse, and there is currently no plan to add the mechanic. However, those who marry the older characters like Ridge and Orlock can become step-parents to their existing children.
Can You Turn Characters Into Vampires
Yes, you can change your partner into a Vampire. However, we have not yet unlocked this mechanic and will update this guide when we have the information.
How to Change Character Portraits in Moonlight Peaks
In Moonlight Peaks, you can change the character portraits between two presets. To do this, follow the steps below:
- While playing Moonlight Peaks, open the main game menu using the “+” button on your Nintendo Switch.
- Enter “Settings”
- Select “Portrait Style” at the bottom of the Gameplay Menu
- Select between styles 1 or 2
The first style is a cartoon portrait style with realistic shading. The second style is anime-inspired and very cute and bubbly.
Moonlight Peaks‘ story is driven forward by the characters you meet and how you interact with them. In order to get a full experience, you must take time getting to know everyone. However, only one will become your special someone.
