Bonus Action

For The Fans, By The Fans

Editorial Team

Welcome to the spot where we introduce the staff of Bonus Action. Below are all the contributors to our publication, and a little bit about what they cover and like. It is important to note that there are no freelancers on Bonus Action. We are all equal contributors working hard toward a common goal – fun writing!

Laura (Ezra) Gray – Editor in Chief – Contributing Writer

Laura Gray, known as Ezra when not putting pen to paper, is a D&D enthusiast with a love of all things written. They are a collector of fantasy and sci-fi novels, a lover of cooking weird food, and a player of farming sims and Pokémon games. When not engrossed in a re-read of Anne McCaffrey or a deep dive into the Adventure Zone: Balance, they can be found sniffing the cats and napping in half-finished crochet projects.

Christopher J. Teuton – Video Content Lead, Columnist

Christopher J. Teuton is a game designer, director, painter, editor, writer, consultant, and producer based out of Savannah, GA, USA. When not working on his various projects, speaking to other developers, advocating for a new video game set in The Matrix universe, or spending time with his family, Christopher J. Teuton mostly enjoys talking to dogs and climbing trees.

Matt Fuller – Contributing Writer

Matt is a lover of all things nerdy who discovered his love for writing while studying game design at Canterbury Christchurch University. Whether it’s tabletop RPGs, video games, a good series, or anything in between, they wanna know about it. The rare moments he isn’t in an intense World of Warcraft binge, you’ll find him sleeping or eating, or both.

Amanda Kay Oaks – Contributing Writer

Amanda Kay Oaks is a writer, book witch, and video game enthusiast based in Latrobe, PA. She writes about books, games, and more from an office packed with crystals and Pokémon plushies. When not engrossed in work or fictional worlds, Amanda can be found in the kitchen, on her yoga mat, or walking her dog, Azula.

Jess Filby – Contributing Writer

Jessica Filby is an avid writer, Dungeons & Dragons player, cozy gamer, and book lover based in Kent, England. You’ll likely find her engrossed in her latest book club read, writing about games she adores, or fussing over her two cats, Millie and Moxxie (yes, like the Helluva boss characters…they’re just as devilish).

Chelsea Sturkie – Contributing Writer

Chelsea is a lifelong reader with a love for all things nerdy. From reading 60 books per month in the fifth grade to getting her degree
in English from the University of Utah to working from home in her current home office turned library, she has never been without a book at hand. When she isn’t reading, playing (and podcasting about) Pokémon, or messing around mindlessly on her phone, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching movies with her husband, and snuggling with her dragon-fighting ginger cat.

Cande Maldonado – Contributing Writer

Cande’s calling in life is to annoy NPCS, smash virtual pottery, and complete every side quest available in RPGs. Her passion for games dates to 2006, when she mounted a Chocobo for the first time, but she has been writing professionally for the past four years. Under Nintendo and Square Enix’s chokehold, she willingly pours hours upon hours into reaching 100% completion in the longest role-playing games ever made. But hey, who needs fresh air and sunlight when you can just live in Ivalice?

Jamie Moorcroft Sharp – Contributing Writer

Jamie adores the indie games that you don’t hear about until you’re on a video essay binge at 3 AM, and suddenly the sound of them changes your life. He’s played games all his life and loves looking at the intricate details that make them magical and different. If there’s a weird list, embarrassing feature, or something else far too out there on Bonus Action, there’s a good chance he wrote it. But that’s not all! He’s also an absolute fiend who never knows when to stop when he puts on his dirty robes and takes on his D&D persona as a Mud Warlock who acts on that tiny voice in your head when it wonders what would happen if you did something really dumb right now. He’s easy to beat in a TGC, though, just keep an eye out for his crazy card combos.
