Hot on the heels of their successful Early Access release, Fields of Mistria developers NPC Studio has given players their first look at upcoming content and updates with an official roadmap.
The updates will refine and improve much of the core gameplay, giving fans more to do, see, explore, and enjoy in the farming sim that has proven to be a major hit with players and looks to only get better with each new update.
Fields of Mistria’s First Major Update: Release Date and Early Patch Notes

The roadmap was revealed by the developers on X, sharing the first details on what is coming to the game. The first major update for Fields of Mistria will come out in Q4 2024, which means put it between October and December. In the update, many of the game’s core systems will be getting some improvements.
These include the following changes and improvements:
- Romance: The heart cap will raise to 6 hearts, adding 6 heart events for romanceable NPCs and more dialogue for non-romanceable NPCs.
- Mines: New enemies for the dungeons and more cosmetic drops will be added.
- Town and Events: The Town Renown cap will be raised by 20 levels, so you’ll get some extra board quests and renown rewards. The museum will also get new content and rewards, and there will be a new festival in town.
- Skills: You’ll be able to level up your skills up to 45 as well as gain additional skill perks.
- Customization and cosmetics: This first update will bring more home upgrades, with furniture and decor options. Your character and animals also will get some love with new cosmetics.
Fields of Mistria Content Roadmap
While it’s likely this first update is all we might get in 2024, here’s what the Fields of Mistria team has outlined for the future:
When it comes to romance, Fields of Mistria will have a 10 hearts cap with events at heart 8 and heart 10 for all romanceable NPCs. There will be marriage and children added in future updates.
If you’re more excited about fighting, expect to see some additional biomes, questline events related to the mines, and more unlockable spells.
For those particularly interested in leveling up their town, Fields of Mistria‘s goal is to further raise the renown level cap, including even more board quests, town quests, as well as rewards for completing each one. The Saturday Market will get more vendors, and there will be even more festivals.
Fields of Mistria does not leave your house and character customization unattended in its content roadmap. You can expect even more home and farmland upgrades, as well as furniture and decor options to be added in the future.
Your animals will also get some much-deserved love, with new cosmetics, pets, and the ability to mount large animals planned for Fields of Mistria down the road.
Another cozy favorite of ours, Magical Delicacy, got some great improvements a little while back too, and you can read about it here.
