Blizzard has announced a brand new, limited-time event for Diablo Immortal, this time crossing over with one of their most popular IPs: World of Warcraft.
The Shadow of the Frozen Throne event will bring the chill of Northrend to Sanctuary, along with some new content and a few rewards to earn, all themed around one of WoW‘s most popular adversaries and their iconic weapon.
Diablo Immortal Sees the Lich King’s Influence Bring New Threats to Sanctuary

The new Shadow of The Frozen Throne event will run from July 4th at 3 AM to July 26 at 3 AM server time and will see the lines blurred between the worlds of Diablo and WoW.
The event’s exact details are a little sparse, but for now, we know that all across Sanctuary, players will find new frozen portals they can enter, where they will have to defeat hordes of the undead scourge within. As you fight, you’ll get a new power, Chill of the Frozen Throne, which can buff you and randomly summon an undead warrior to aid you in battle.
By completing this event, players will earn the Frostmourne weapon cosmetic, and for just logging in during the event, players will get an Icecrown frame. On top of that, any purchase made with real money during the event will net players the Icecrown Path Portal, which can be claimed by the first character you log on with afterward.

This event comes hot on the heels of the recently released Tempest class, and Writhing Abyss updates, both of which brought new content to the already robust offerings of the free-to-play title. This event also couldn’t be timed better, as this year is World of Warcraft‘s 20th anniversary, with the MMO planning to have its own event to celebrate this massive milestone.
Elsewhere in Diablo, the new expansion, Vessel of Hatred, is set to release later this year, with a new class, the Spiritborn, new region, abilities, and story, and content coming to the latest installment of the Diablo franchise.
