Blizzard has revealed the second original class for its free-to-play ARPG Diablo Immortal, The Tempest, a new storm-themed hero with dual blades and a lot of style.
To mark the occasion, the developers have released a new trailer for the upcoming class, which will be available later this month.
Players Can Expect Watery Carnage From the Eighth Class Making Its Way Into Diablo Immortal
The new Tempest class will be joining Diablo Immortal on May 23, bringing a new way to slay demons in the free-to-play title. From a lore standpoint, these Tempests are “agile, dual blade-wielding warriors” who can “harness the fury of the storm” to destroy their enemies. They hail from the Cold Isles, a region to the north of the games continent, are exiles, and are described as “deeply devoted warrior-priests chosen from among the pure of heart,” whose goal is to protect their people from danger.
Along with the announcement, Blizzard has released an animated trailer showcasing the new class and some gameplay. In it, we see plenty of mobility, quick-moving abilities, and several water and air-themed attacks that create water whips, tidal waves, and other storm-style attacks. Players will also get a Tempest-specific quest to complete, which will likely give some more background on the class and its lore, and thanks to the Diablo Immortals class change feature, anyone can try the class when it is released.

This is the second original class that has come to Diablo Immortal, with the first being the Blood Knight released last year, which brought a blood-soaked warrior into the fray who could transform into a more powerful form and used spears and blood magic.
This is just one of the many new additions and changes coming to Diablo Immortal during its Age of Unmaking, with system overhauls, new content, the 2nd anniversary, and the return of Diablo himself slated to release through 2024. As for Diablo 4, players can look forward to the Season of Loot Reborn, complete with major itemization reworks, coming on May 16, along with the new expansion, Vessel of Hatred, which is slated to release later this year.
