Belial, the Lord of Lies, Returns for Diablo 4 Season 8

Blizzard has unveiled its newest seasonal update coming later this month for Diablo 4, and this time around, the Lord of Lies himself returns to Sanctuary to wreak havoc. The new season brings new content, updates, and additions to dive into.

Like previous seasons, there will be new activities for players to enjoy along with rewards, seasonal power, and quality of life improvements, as well as a few extra surprises that add some extra spice to the blood-soaked carnage of Diablo 4.

Diablo 4 Players Will Get to Harness Boss Powers and Conquer the New Apparition Incursions

Diablo 4 Season 8, Belial’s Return, will begin April 29, 2025, and sees the Lord of Lies infect Sanctuary with his visions and unleash new enemies and horrors onto the world, following the ending of Vessel of Hatred, which saw Mephisto’s return. It will be up to players to fight back the lies and save Sanctuary from yet another demonic threat.

As for gameplay, there will be several new additions, starting with Apparition Incursions. This new wave-based activity will have you fighting strange creatures for loot and seasonal rewards such as Spectral Ash, and like previous seasons, you can use them to upgrade and obtain new items and power.

That power comes in the form of Boss Powers, which have you using abilities from the game’s many bosses, including Lilith and Duriel, along with several modifiers to create plentiful combinations that can fit different builds and playstyles.

There will also be new lair bosses, featuring the return of several from Vessel of Hatred (if you own the expansion that is), along with new challenges, improvements to boss loot, as well as some quality of life improvements. These include the ability to teleport to party members, and a new system to the battle pass called Reliquary Rewards, which aims to give players more choice in the seasonal journey.

To top it off, from May 6 – the the end of Season 8, players will experience the first collaboration for Diablo 4, BERSERK, which will see both Diablo 4 and Diablo Immortal crossover with the famous anime.

This all comes on the heels of the recent roadmap annoucment, which detailed the new content coming to Diablo 4 over 2025 in the Age of Hatred, including the next three seasons, their additions and updates, the new pets and quality of life changes, and a new expansion, which is set to release in 2026.
