Blizzard has unveiled the next season of its ARPG hit Diablo 4, and this time players can look forward to embracing their witchy side thanks to new seasonal power focused on the Occult.
The new seasonal content will see players embrace new powers and witchcraft to enhance and empower their builds, along with plenty of additions, improvements, and a much-requested feature finally making its way to the game.
Occultism and the Armory Headline the New Seasonal Content for Diablo 4

The Season of Witchcraft is set to begin on January 21 and will see Diablo 4 add a slew of new occult-themed content for players to use and refine their builds.
The biggest addition is the Witchcraft powers. These new abilities will give players new ways to harm, heal, hinder, and destroy foes old and new, with 25 being available to unlock. These are spread across different schools of magic and can be upgraded for great effects as you take on the new content. Along with this, players will have Occult Gems, a new socketable item that enhances your Witchcraft, along with other benefits, making these two important aspects of player builds for the season.
Players earn these by working with the Coven, a new seasonal faction that has tasked you with finding the rotting heads from the Tree of Whispers, which have somehow been let loose and are causing chaos. As you find these heads on “Headhunts”, and slay the new Headrotten enemies, you’ll earn more reputation, unlock more Witchcraft, and ways to upgrade them. As for rewards, you’ll also have a chance for Ancestral Collections from the Tree of Whispers for completing new tasks, along with your new witchy abilities.
As for evergreen features, the long-awaited Armory will finally be added to the game, allowing players to save their builds and swap them around depending on their content. The Welcome Back Booster will also be sticking around, allowing Eternal characters to be boosted to level 50 with gear and preset skills to boot. There are also a ton of improvements and tweaks to the game, and you can expect plenty of class changes too.
Coupled with the new Runes, Legendries, store items, and the season pass, there is a lot to look forward to in the first new season of 2025 for Diablo 4. You can read up on all the new additions in more detail on the official Diablo 4 blog.
