Diablo Immortal continues to add and expand its content offers with its most recent update, Crucible of Justice, bringing new main story quests, co-op activity, progression items, and events for players to look forward to.
This is the penultimate major update for Diablo Immortal during its Age of Unmaking in 2024, which will culminate in the return of Diablo to Sanctuary along with tons more updates and content.
Diablo Immortal Players Must Cleanse Their Souls of Darkness to Battle the Lord of Terror
The update is set to go live on September 11 and will bring a new chapter to the main questline of Diablo Immortal for players who have reached Paragon level 30 and completed the final Southern Dreadlands questline.
The new story quests will take players to the Cold Isles, where they must fight for their souls and cleanse themselves of the darkness they have amassed from shattering Worldstone Shards on their journeys. Doing so will allow them to wield El’druin, the blade of Tyrael, and prepare them for their battle with Diablo, who is set to return in a later update.
Along with story content, the other major addition is the Vanguard co-op mode, which sees players complete objectives in a party of four, all while slashing through the hordes of hell.
Difficulty is done by Vanguard levels, and the higher tier players do, the better the rewards and challenge. To aid in these, players will have new Vanguard skills they can use, which have four categories of skill type and can be upgraded and improved with successful runs.

With these, there are also several other additions, including new legendary gems and systems related to them, as well as two limited-time events, Festival of the Ancient Moon, which will have its own tasks and rewards for players to earn when it begins on September 13 and ends September 27.
The other is Toil of Virtue, which will have two lists of tasks to complete for rewards, both solo and as a group. This is in addition to several returning events, all of which are detailed in the Diablo Immortal blog, as well as quality of life and bug fixes.
This is just another in a long line of notable updates Diablo Immortal has received this year, including the introduction of the Tempest Class and the Writhing Abyss update. This, along with the imminent release of Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred, complete with NPC companions and the new Spiritborn class, it’s clear that the Diablo franchise is firing on all cylinders this year.
