It’s a pretty exciting time for Pokémon TCG Pocket players right now. The long-awaited 3rd series has arrived with the release of the Dual Fusion expansion. Not only that, but the game is celebrating its 2nd anniversary. And that means exciting events and missions galore for players. Starting on October 30th, Pokémon TCG Pocket is treating players to a grand total of four in-game events. And one of them is letting us take a second crack at Series B promo cards we might’ve missed the first time around.
Today marks the arrival of the new Elite Decks and Community Deck features, along with a new Handy Card Collection mission series. The Second Anniversary Campaign is also live, offering a ticket that players can exchange for a special booster pack with a guaranteed 2-star card included. But perhaps most importantly to my fellow completionists in the room, the PROMO Reissue Event will give us a second opportunity to fill in the promo cards we’re missing from the last run. I missed quite a few this time around, so I’m pretty excited to be able to fill in the gaps.
Pokémon TCG Pocket Could Make Its Promo Reissue Event So Much Better With One Small Change

I won’t lie, I was pretty excited to see that we’re getting a chance to fill in our Promo card gaps from the B series. These limited-time cards always frustrate me, because I often wind up with about 5 of one promo, while still missing another. During the event, which runs from October 30th to November 13th, we’ll be able to find promo cards from the Series B Wonder Pick event again. We can also replay battles from the Series B drop events to earn promos we missed.
In addition, missions from the event will award special tickets we can use to snag the specific promo cards we missed from the in-game shop. That would be amazing… if I could more easily tell which promos I’m missing. Unlike standard booster expansion, the Promo-B series doesn’t show the missing slots when you view it from My Cards. And in the in-game shop, you can’t see how many of each card you have without several clicks to view card details. So, knowing which cards you’re missing, and which battles you need to replay to earn them, is far more difficult than it needs to be. I’d love to be able to see the missing cards greyed-out or represented by a gap, like they are for standard packs.
I’m still thrilled to be able to track down the cards I’m missing, don’t get me wrong. But I’d love to not need a separate system to know which cards those are. DeNA has been doing a great job with quality-of-life updates lately, and I’m really hoping we see something to make tracking your promo card collection a bit more user-friendly going forward.
Pokémon TCG Pocket Delivers on Promise of More to Do In The Game

As for the other events? You’ll find plenty to do in the Missions tab for the next few weeks, right along with the new boosters to collect. The 1 2-star Card Guaranteed Pack Missions are, much like the Pika Pika event, simply login-related. But the Handy Card Collection return features a variety of challenges encouraging players to participate in solo battles. That’s convenient, with the rerun of promo card event battles. In all, the Missions tab is looking a lot more exciting, and we’ve got plenty of solo battles to take on to complete them.
Along with all of this, the new special packs have debuted. Players can earn 1 stamina a week to open packs from the First Partners special packs. In total, there are 27 full-art cards to earn, with each pack giving you a single card. I’ve only opened one so far since they just came out, but it feels like a fun little bonus when you get that pack notification. It is another stamina to track, but it doesn’t feel too invasive as far as I can tell so far.
In all, it seems like there will be much more to do in the game as we head into 2027. Hopefully, the pace of new, interesting events will continue along with some quality-of-life tweaks.
Still here? Good.
