Like any good farming sim, Moonlight Peaks has its fair share of recipes. From cooking to crafting and processing and beyond, you’ll make plenty besides magic in this cozy game. But sometimes, it’s hard to know where to get the ingredients for a certain recipe. That’s especially the case for items like Heart Stones, which show up in recipes well before you unlock the ability to actually get them in-game.
This guide will show you when and where to get a Heart Stone in Moonlight Peaks. So if you’re trying to craft something that needs a Stone Heart, rest assured, you’ll be able to. The bad news is, you’ll have to make it to your first Winter to get one.
Where to Get Heart Stones

First, the bad news. Heart Stones can’t be obtained until Winter. That’s because they are produced by a specific animal, the Stoney. And that critter won’t be available at Luna’s barn until Winter 1. When Winter begins, you’ll get a letter from Luna asking you to come check out a strange creature that just showed up.
Head to Luna’s farm, and you’ll see a stone creature with many eyes. That is a Stoney, and you’ll be able to buy them after you complete this event. Once you have a Stoney on your farm, it will produce one Heart Stone roughly every other day. To harvest it, simply head to the barn where your Stoney lives, and you should find it on the ground.

Unlike other animal products, the Heart Stone doesn’t have a quality rating. Even so, if you want to keep your Stoney happy, just feed it the same Fodder or Premium Fodder as any other animal in your barn. Be sure to pet it and even chat with it in Hellkitten Form, as well.
As of now, harvesting them from a Stoney is the only known way to get Heart Stones in Moonlight Peaks. We have yet to find a store that sells them. So, you’ll have to hit the Winter season before you can obtain one.
