NetherRealm Studios may be working on a third Injustice game after all, at least according to a new leak. There has been much speculation about NetherRealm’s next fighting game project after Mortal Kombat 1, with one of the most-requested titles being a new Injustice sequel. The previous two Injustice games featured an alternate DC universe where Superman falls to the dark side, dividing the Justice League between those who support his oppressive One Earth Regime and those who stand against him.
Rumors of the long-hoped-for Injustice 3 ignited late last year, when voice actors George Newbern and Phil LaMarr (Superman and Aquaman, respectively) let it slip that they were supposedly working on a new entry in the series while talking to fans during a convention. However, nothing else came of these rumors – until now.
WB Artist Seemingly Confirms Injustice 3

According to MP1st, an unnamed artist working at WB Games included Injustice 3 on a list of upcoming projects they are working on. Adding credence to this list is a mention of a Hogwarts Legacy sequel that has already been confirmed, along with two other unnamed projects.
We still can’t be one hundred percent sure that Injustice 3 is on the way, especially given the recent corporate shake-up at NetherRealm parent company Warner Bros. That being said, DC Studios head James Gunn (who is no stranger to gaming himself) recently spoke with NetherRealm about making more DC-based games, and NetherRealm’s own Ed Boon has expressed interest in returning to the Injustice universe.
Said universe has also spawned a successful line of DC comics that fleshed out the stories of both existing Injustice titles, as well as an animated Injustice movie based on the first game. 2017’s Injustice 2 did leave room to continue the story in a new game, and there are still plenty of DC heroes and villains that fans would love to play as if Injustice 3 is indeed in the works.
