Sometimes all you need is a concept, or a title. Sometimes you don’t actually want to play anything, you just want to imagine it.
There were hundreds of games I loved as a kid simply because they looked cool in magazines. I never played half of them.
Here’s some videogames that don’t exist yet, but I’d sure love to be playing right now:
- An open-world first-person game like Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, but set in George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire universe.
- A sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask that follows Link on his continuing search for Navi.
- A third-person, realistic Age of Sail game that blends some mechanics from Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag with elements of games like KCD2.
- Balatro but billiards, and you can customize your cues, cue balls, and table.
- A second sequel to Final Fantasy X and FFX-2 that follows a blitzball team. The majority of the game should work similarly to the Coach/Career mode of recent EA Madden titles.
- Single-player DLC for Red Dead Redemption 2 of the same quality as Undead Nightmare, but more like L.A. Noire in gameplay.
- A remaster of the N64/PS1 Mission: Impossible game for modern consoles. Not enough people played this, and they should. It was really good.
- Gex 4: Enter the Geckoverse
- Hogwarts Legacy but it actually has Quidditch this time
- A 120-hour Rockstar epic based on Stephen King’s The Stand.
- A first-person game about identifying animals out in the middle of the woods. This would need to be as realistic-looking as possible and should also include a subplot where you have identify certain animals within a time limit before hunters eradicate them from the area.
- An RPG where you play an elephant from birth to death during the reign of King Bimbisara in 543 BC.
- I dunno man, something that’s not this.
- Oh, wait, Keeper just came out.
- Imma go play Keeper and see if it’s any good.
Will report back next week.
