Pokemon Pokopia is one of those games that’s so massive, it feels like you’ll never really run out of things to do. Just in case players were looking for a break from decorating every biome in the game, Pokopia is giving us yet another live event to enjoy. Right on the tail of the Bulbasaur’s Jump Rope contest event, we’ve got a brand-new Pokemon bringing us a new task to complete in Pokopia.
Sableye makes its Pokemon Pokopia debut on April 29th as part of a new live event called Sableye’s Gem Hunt. The event tasks players with gathering red crystal fragments, which they can trade with Sableye for new building kits, furniture, and other items. If you’re trying to make the most of the event and unlock every new item, our event guide is here to help.
When is the Sableye’s Gem Hunt Event in Pokemon Pokopia?

The Sableye’s Gem Hunt event runs from April 29th to May 14th, 2026, in Pokemon Pokopia. When the event begins, you’ll find Sableye in the game and be able to start gathering gem fragments to trade with it at the Pokemon Center.
How to Start the Sableye’s Gem Hunt Event in Pokemon Pokopia?

To participate in the Sableye’s Gem Hunt event, you will need at least one restored Pokemon Center in any biome. So long as you meet that requirement when you launch Pokemon Pokopia during the event, you’ll get a message that “A Pokemon is the talk of the town!” It will also instruct you to go to the nearest functional Pokemon Center.
To get started with the event, head to the Pokemon Center. You should see Sableye standing outside. Talk to it to befriend the Darkness Pokemon and add it to your Pokédex. Once you do, Sableye will ask for your help finding Red Crystal Fragments.
Once you talk to Sableye, they’ll post up in the Pokemon Center. Visit them there with your red crystal fragments to trade them in for unique event-specific items.
Where to Find Red Crystal Fragments

Much like with the Hoppip event, you need to head to a Dream Island to find Red Crystal Fragments. To do so, bring a Pokemon Doll to Drifloon or interact with a Pokemon Doll to summon it. Then, you’ll be able to travel to a Dream Island. Keep in mind, you can only visit one Dream Island per day. So once you’ve gathered all the fragments on a specific island, you’ll have to wait for a new day before you can get more.
Once you arrive at the Dream Island, you’ll need to find and break Red Crystal Clusters. These seem to spawn in areas you’d expect to find rock formations, rather than floating all over the map like Hoppip’s spores. Head to any cave-like areas on the island, and you should find a few clusters. They’re hard to miss. To break them, equip and use the Rock Smash ability. Then, hoover up the fragments to trade with Sableye.
All Sableye Trade Items & How to Get Them
During the event, Sableye will have a total of 10 unique items available for trade at the Pokemon Center. You can trade for these items as many times as you want throughout the event period, so long as you have enough Red Crystal Fragments.
Here is the full list of items and how much each one costs:
| Item | Crystal Fragment Cost |
|---|---|
| Adventurer’s Kit | 10 Fragments |
| Camping Chair | 5 Fragments |
| Camping Cooking Pot | 10 Fragments |
| Digital Camera | 5 Fragments |
| Jewel Wall Decoration | 2 Fragments |
| Map and Compass | 5 Fragments |
| Oil Lantern | 2 Fragments |
| Sleeping Bag | 10 Fragments |
| Tent Kit | 10 Fragments |
| Treasure | 5 Fragments |
How to Build Sableye’s Habitat in Pokemon Pokopia

Since Sableye appears automatically at the start of the event, you don’t need to make its habitat to find it. Once the event ends, though, Sableye will need a home. So if you want to craft its habitat rather than move it into a house right away, here are the items you’ll need:
- 1 Adventurer’s Kit
- 1 Map and Compass
- 1 Treasure
Position these items close enough to one another to create a habitat. Then, Sableye won’t be homeless when the event ends.
