Farming sim fans and true crime enthusiasts alike have been eagerly waiting for Grave Seasons. This “cozy horror” farming sim throws players into the midst of a town with a serial killer problem. Originally expected to release in August, developer Perfect Garbage later delayed Grave Seasons to a vague “fall 2026” release window. Since then, fans have been waiting for more specific details on the game’s upcoming launch. Alas, that’s where I’ve got good news and bad news for you. Today, Perfect Garbage and Blumhouse finally unveiled the game’s new, official release date. But it’s not in fall 2026.
In a new social media and Steam post on September 30th, the Grave Seasons devs hit us with an update. Rather than fall 2026, Grave Seasons will now launch on March 9th, 2027. The post claims this is the “final final V2 for real” release date, so odds are good we will be farming and investigating a string of murders come March of next year. Here’s what we know about the latest delay, as well as the game’s brand-new release date.
Grave Seasons Delayed to March 2027 with New Dev Log Message
For those of us hoping to dig into Grave Seasons for spooky season this year, the delay is a bit of a blow. Seeing a game pushed from fall 2026 all the way to late winter/early spring 2027 is quite a delay. But there’s a good reason for it, and not one that should have anyone concerned about the final quality of the game at release. As Perfect Garbage put it in their dev log about the new release date, “porting a game to consoles is tough.” The process of getting Grave Seasons ready for its multi-platform launch has, quite simply, taken longer than they expected. But there are some upsides here.
First and foremost, “Grave Seasons is content complete!” The game is more or less finished for PC, with the team now working on final touches and bug fixes alongside console ports. And of course, this delay largely comes as a result of making sure the game is optimized for the Nintendo Switch. If you love a cozy game on Switch as much as I do, it’s good news that the team is taking the time to make sure Grave Seasons is actually ready for its big Nintendo debut.
The dev log also shows off some fun work-in-progress art, showing just how much Grave Seasons has changed throughout the development process. It’s got plenty of details about gameplay, art style, and the town itself to tide us over until we can finally experience Grave Seasons for ourselves. With the new, really truly final release date, Grave Seasons will release for PC via Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on March 9th, 2027. As a Pisces baby myself, I have to say that’s a pretty good birthday to have.
