As with all games in the series, Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar has a pointed focus on farming. The crops players grow aren’t just for selling; they are the key to cooking and crafting. These processed items sell at a much higher cost, but it won’t be easy to get to a place where everything is available.
Farming mechanics are introduced at the start of Grand Bazaar, with the player obtaining a base set of tools to get started right away. From here, new seeds, tool upgrades, and other tricks will be needed to make the best produce possible for cooking and creating processed goods.

How to Get Farming Tools in Story of Seasons Grand Bazaar

The base set of tools is provided to the player at the start of the game. After this, upgrades are completed in the windmills on the player farm and in town.
The tools take up their own active bar and do not interfere with the player’s inventory space.
Below are all the tools used for farming in Grand Bazaar:
- Hoe
- Sickle
- Hatchet (Doubles as a hammer and axe)
- Watering Can
The Hatchet is used to clear logs and rocks that spawn in unused tiles of the farmable areas on the ranch.
How to Upgrade Soil in SoS: Grand Bazaar

How to Get Seeds in Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar
There are three main ways to get seeds in Grand Bazaar: buy them at the mercantile or bazaar, trade for them via the Nature Sprites, or make them in the windmills.
Some seeds are harder to get, and these will produce crops with a higher selling price.
How to Order Seeds in SoS: Grand Bazaar
When purchasing from the Mercantile in town, players can place orders for out-of-season seeds. However, players can only order seeds recorded in their catalog. This means that special seeds like Carrots or Delicious Fodder Seeds won’t be available until you unlock them through the story.
This is the key way to order more seeds earned through quests, as these are only given in limited quantity when first obtained.

How to Super Harvest and Super Sow in SoS: Grand Bazaar
In Grand Bazaar, players have a special ability that allows them to harvest multiple crops at once. This Super Harvest skill can be used by jumping and then selecting the harvest ability.
At the beginning of the game, players will be able to use the Super Harvest ability to throw seeds and harvest crops in 1×3 rows. However, upgrades to this ability can be purchased from the mayor at his tent during the Bazaar. These upgrades are expensive, costing 30,000G or more. We recommend focusing on other upgrades from the Carpenter’s shop first before sinking money into the Super Harvest ability.
How to Increase Crop Quality in SoS: Grand Bazaar
In order to get a higher quality crop when farming, players must use a combination of the Blue Windmill and fertilizer.
The first step in getting higher-quality seeds is to use fertilizer on crops every day. Fertilizer can be purchased at the Mercantile, or it can be made in windmills using grass and spoiled food. This must be placed on crops daily to increase the quality of the produce.
We recommend doing this in small groups at the start of the game, as Fertilizer costs can add up quickly. We started with a 3×3 area in the first field and rotated the types of seeds planted to get higher-quality items.
It is essential to use these crops in the Blue Windmill for seeds as quickly as possible. If they spoil, they won’t be usable for seeds.
Food Spoilage & Shelf Life in SoS: Grand Bazaar

Unlike in other Story of Seasons games, players won’t be able to store perishable items forever. Food can spoil after a specific amount of time, lowering its value and making it useless for most crafting and selling.
Spoiled food should never be eaten or gifted. Gifting it to characters will hurt progress made for friendship gauges. If food spoils, use it in fertilizer or throw it away.
To get around the spoiling of food, players should upgrade their storage as soon as possible and put unused items inside. The more upgrades the home storage receives, the longer the food stored inside will last.
Players can also use food close to expiring in dishes and processed goods; this will reset the spoilage timeframe.
For example, nearly spoiled milk can be turned into cheese, which will have its own freshness timeframe. Nearly spoiled cheese can be cooked into a dish, and that food will have a new freshness meter.
Pay attention to food quality, and be sure to check out storage daily to ensure items don’t get missed.
All Field Upgrades in SoS: Grand Bazaar
When getting started in SoS: Grand Bazaar, only a small farming plot will be available to players. In order to expand, a carpentry order will need to be taken out during the Bazaar. These expansions aren’t cheap and aren’t all available at once. Players will need to progress the town Bazaar rating to unlock new upgrades.
Below are all of the expansions players can purchase and the requirements for unlocking them.
- Field Expansion 1 – Purchased at Wilbur’s Shop for 20,000G. Opens the farming space behind the player’s home.
- Extra Field Expansion – Purchased from Wilbur’s Shop for 100,000G. Opens the third farming location at the top of the map.
- Good-Quality Soil – Purchased from Garon’s Shop for 50,000G.
- High-Quality Soil – Purchased from Garon’s Shop for 100,000G.
- Top-Quality Soil – Purchased from Garon’s Shop for 1,000,000G after reaching Bazaar Rank 20.
