Adorable To Wear, Compact in Use

The Pompompurin edition of the Kraken Kitty V2 Bluetooth headset comes with all the bells and whistles of its base version. The microphone is set inside the earcups, removing the need to plug in a mic or extend it from a hidden compartment. This creates a more streamlined look, though it can sometimes muddy the sound or cause background noise to be audible when in chat.
The Bluetooth and volume controls are also built into the earcups for easy adjustments while in use, making it an ergonomic option for those who like to use their headsets while on the go. The Kraken Kitty V2 also includes the Razer RGB Chroma lighting built into the logo design on the outside of the earcups.
The best feature about the Razer Kraken Kitty V2 headset is that it is noise-cancelling. While testing the headset, I was pleasantly surprised at how powerful the ANC is, as some Bluetooth headsets struggle to truly block surrounding noise. This allowed music and video game audio to come through clearly, even when my five-year-old was playing “Dragon Pirate Ship Catastrophe” behind me.
Big Ears But Lightweight

When I first opened the box for the Pompompurin edition of the Kraken Kitty V2, I was concerned about how much they would weigh. Both Pompompurin and Cinnamaroll have replaced the iconic kitty ears of the original headset design with the floppy, squishy ears of the featured Sanrio characters. These added quite a bit of bulk to the headset.
I won’t lie, they are quite a bit heavier than my standard Kraken Kitty headphones, but nowhere near as heavy as I had initially expected. The weight feels balanced, though I can tell that there are ears attached to the sides while in use.
Additionally, these are a statement if worn in public. I have gotten plenty of compliments on them while wearing them out and about, but they definitely draw attention. If you don’t want to have Sanrio conversations with strangers at a Safeway, you may want to reserve them for at-home use.
Good Sound But Limited by Bluetooth
Unfortunately, the Kraken Kitty V2, despite its premium 40 mm drivers and 92.5 dB SPL, does struggle with some tininess when used in Bluetooth mode. This isn’t exactly a flaw of the headset, but more a side effect of Bluetooth connection as a whole. The compression of the audio can cause music to sound flat, though this was less noticeable when using the headset for gaming.
I did notice a large improvement when connecting them directly to my device, but again, this isn’t surprising, as it removed Bluetooth compression. If you are a big audiophile and you want these to be your go-to accessory of choice, it is good to note that the bass is a bit dull and the treble can be sharp when not wired in.
That said, they are very solid and offer surprisingly clear sound for a gaming headset, and this is bolstered by the noise cancellation features.
Final Score – 8/10
The Razer Pompompurin Kraken Kitty V2 Bluetooth headset is adorable, functional, and eye-catching. It is a fantastic accessory for fans of Sanrio and offers everything you need to game comfortably with good sound and an active microphone.
While it is a bit heavy and the built-in mic can transmit background noise in a busy space, they are comfortable and exciting. They could be the perfect holiday gift for a Sanrio fan in your life, or the perfect addition to your personal collection of Hello Kitty accessories.
