Any Trope But You by Victoria Lavine

- Release Date: April 1, 2025
- Price: $18.99 on Amazon
- Publisher: Atria Books
- ARC Received: Yes
This debut romance novel from Victoria Lavine is my current read, and let me tell you, I cannot put it down. Lavine absolutely nails taking every romance trope and twisting it in this fun, self-aware romance. In it, romance author Margot is exposed as a fraud when a hacker leaks her “Happily Never After” draft that writes “realistic” endings for her novels. So, her sister sends her to the remote Alaskan wilderness to try and regain her confidence and heal her heart.
Enter Forrest, a man right out of a romance novel, who just so happens to be her wilderness guide through this big adventure. He’s healing from some wounds of his own, and friends, the banter is immaculate. If you love romance novels that like to poke a little fun at the tropes while still honoring and illustrating a deep knowledge of them, buy this book immediately. Seriously, you won’t regret it.
The Sirens by Emilia Hart

- Release Date: April 1, 2025
- Price: $29.00 on Amazon
- Publisher: St. Martin’s Press
- ARC Received: Yes
When I read Emilia Hart’s Weyward a few years ago, I knew she would be an auto-buy author for me. I adore the way Hart weaves together the stories of three generations of women, tackling all the difficulties of patriarchy in a world that refuses to accept women who don’t stay within the lines. The Sirens takes a similar path, once again taking on three different women’s stories across hundreds of years.
As the title suggests, this time, we’re not looking at witches – we’re looking at women bound to the sea. And I am trusting this one to be as gripping, heartbreaking, and powerful as Hart’s previous generation-spanning saga.
Swept Away by Beth O’Leary

- Release Date: April 1, 2025
- Price: $19.00 on Amazon
- Publisher: Berkley
- ARC Received: Yes
A new Beth O’Leary novel is always an exciting time, and I am very much looking forward to this one. Swept Away follows two people who thought they were having a fun and easy one night stand, never to see each other again. Only they forget to tie up the houseboat, which means they soon find themselves lost at sea. Forced proximity at its finest, my friends.
Lexi and Zeke both have their reasons for avoiding a serious relationship, but will their time together on the open sea crack open their hearts?
Roll for Love by M.K. England

- Release Date: April 8, 2025
- Price: $19.99 on Amazon
- Publisher: Running Press Kids
- ARC Received: Yes
Queer romance set around the Dungeons & Dragons table, anyone? Roll for Love is a delightful YA romance set during two young women’s senior year of high school. Light on the spice but heavy on the TTRPGs, this story blends romance and coming of age for a Nat 20 of a novel.
Ollie and Harper were childhood best friends and, secretly, one another’s first crushes. They haven’t seen each other for years, until Harper winds up moving to her grandparents’ house for her senior year of high school. Soon, they’re playing D&D together and falling in love right alongside their characters. But Ollie isn’t sure the town she loves is ready to learn she’s bi, and Harper is struggling to find footing for her future.
The Amalfi Curse by Sarah Penner

- Release Date: April 29, 2025
- Price: $30.00 on Amazon
- Publisher: Park Row
- ARC Received: No
Sarah Penner captured the attention of readers with her debut, The Lost Apothecary. And I was one of them. While her follow-up didn’t quite hit the same way for me, I am very much looking forward to seeing what she does next with The Amalfi Curse.
This book follows nautical archeologist Haven on a trip to discover the hidden treasure her father sought out before his final dive. While there, she stumbles upon an ancient tale of ocean magic and ancient secrets. This very much sounds like it’s going to bring back a lot of what I loved about The Lost Apothecary, and I am here for it.
