While used to build some of the best gear currently in the game, Essence of the Void in Hytale is an item so difficult to farm that players must start seeking it out almost immediately. This special item is a mob drop, and not one that spawns readily in the biomes of the world.
Unlike iron or copper, Essence of the Void is a very uncommon drop that won’t be found while mining. It also can’t be crafted. Because of this, it must be slowly stocked away for late-game, and every last one of these is critical to crafting Mithril armor.
How to Find Essence of the Void in Hytale
To obtain Essence of the Void in Hytale, players must defeat creatures from the void. These corrupted, twisted monsters appear at night. So far, we have encountered something called the Crawler, which has glowing purple eyes and a strange, alien-like body that scuttles on the ground. Void creatures look twisted and corrupted, and immediately attack as soon as they see the main character.
Lesser void creatures drop only one Essence of the Void. It is best to tuck these into storage as soon as you obtain them, so as not to drop them somewhere on the map if knocked out.
How to Use Essence of the Void
Essence of the Void in Hytale is used when crafting Mithril-grade armor and when making the Arcanist’s bench. All of these recipes call for a high number of Essence of the Void. This is likely to keep players from immediately obtaining all the benches and top-tier armor as soon as they begin the game.
The supply of Essence of the Void is tied entirely to the spawn of void creatures, which doesn’t seem to be very high. Players will need to travel across the biomes at night to locate additional spawns and take them out. This is the key to grinding Essence of the Void in Hytale.
