Despite the beautiful colors of the world, Voyagers of Nera is no walk in the park. To gain access to better weapons and buildings, players will need to make Bone Nails, which require Deepling Bones. Unfortunately, these aren’t going to be easy to come by.
Deepling Bones are an early-game resource locked behind a more powerful enemy encounter. They are used in cooking and crafting recipes and are needed to progress the main storyline.
Below is everything you need to know about getting and using Deepling Bones in Voyagers of Nera.
Where to Get Deepling Bones in Voyagers of Nera

To get Deepling Bones, players will need to dive into open ocean areas and locate a Deepling Fish. These large, spiny fish with glowing eyes are aggressive and will take a player out easily if they are a low level. Be sure to take a Spear to fight with. Punching the Deepling fish in the water isn’t effective, as the Spears are designed for waterbound encounters.
Was taken down, the Deepling Fish will drop Deepling Bones, Deepling Ichor, and Deepling Morsels.
Additionally, in very rare instances, Deepling Bones can be found in abandoned urns. However, these urns aren’t common and don’t offer large amounts of loot. With Deepling Bones needed for a core building material, it isn’t a reliable way to obtain them.
How to Craft Bone Nails in Voyagers of Nera

To craft Bone Nails in Voyagers of Nera, players must unlock, place, and build a Workbench. They must then reach Knowledge Tree Level 3 and use one Knowledge Point to unlock the Bone Nails blueprint.
Once unlocked, the Bone Nails can be crafted at the Workbench for two Deepling Bones.
This will make five Bone Nails. Bone Nails are used in a variety of weapons and tools, like the Jagged Bone Club, which is a critical early weapon in the game.
Like with Deepling Bones, Bone Nails can also be found in abandoned Urns. It’s recommended to hoard these in a storage basket at the base, and never carry them in an inventory while traveling if possible. Dying will empty out a player’s inventory, and getting stacks of items back, especially early on or in single player, can be a difficult task.
Deepling Bones aren’t the only difficult item to get in Voyagers of Nera. Check out our guide for Sharpstone to ensure everything is ready for advanced weapon crafting when the time comes.
