The turbulence continues for Pokémon GO following the latest Community Day announcement, which has confirmed the Psychic-type Solosis as the next spotlight.
Pokémon GO has struggled over the past year to maintain excitement among fans, primarily due to lackluster featured Pokémon and repeat events. The recent Kanto events drew negative feedback in particular, with many confused as to why the original starters continue to be featured despite heavy saturation within the game.
Now, pushback against is coming down in layers, with players confused as to why Solosis would be featured in October when so many other Ghost and Psychic-Types would have been a better fit.
October Community Days Aren’t Looking Good For Pokémon GO
In a social media post shared by the official Pokémon GO account, it has been confirmed that Solosis Community Day will take place on October 12, 2025, from 2 PM to 5 PM Local Time.
Fans immediately flooded the comments, questioning why other options like Dreepy had been set aside over Solosis. One player stated, “This might actually be the worst com day we’ve ever had.”
The primary pushback against Solosis, besides it not being a particularly popular Pokémon, is that it will not be useful in competitive battles or against current Gimmick Raids like Max Battles.
Others have pointed out the change made to the Featured Attack, which would give any Solosis evolved into Reuniclus during the event the Fast Attack Charm. Originally, players could get this special move for up to a week following the event. Now, the Featured Attack can only be obtained during the event and for four hours following its end.
The general feedback about this change is widely negative, with players citing it as another major issue with accessibility. Not every Pokémon GO player has the ability to spend an entire afternoon playing the game, and many have added it to frustrations about the now permanently shortened Community Day timeframe, which has caused problems for numerous players with children or weekend jobs.
With few other incentives to give the Community Day a try, many are stating they will skip the October Community Day entirely and wait for updates on any Halloween events that may be announced in the coming weeks.
While it is unlikely Dreepy or Mimikyu will finally get their day in the sun this spooky season, there is the possibility that players might be able to have another go at catching a GMAX Gengar via Max Battles. With just a few weeks left until October, news of the 2025 creepy season in Pokémon GO is likely not far off.
