Fields of Mistria Romance & Gifting Guide – All Characters, Marriage, Heart Events & Gifts

Romance makes farming sims a more wholesome place, and Fields of Mistria won’t leave players disappointed. An adorable cast of characters lives in this cute little town, and each of them is waiting to be swept off their feet.

Mistria’s close-knit community is filled with unique personalities. Hayden will help you around the farm while Balor is out to catch a good deal. But winning their hearts won’t be easy, and players will need to stock up on the right presents to make progress.

How Many Romanceable Characters Are in Fields of Mistria?

Fields of Mistria has a total of 12 romance options. However, only 10 are available and revealed as of the early access launch.

Do Dialogue Choices Change Outcomes in Heart Events

As far as we have been able to test in the two-heart and four-heart events, the outcome of the events does not change depending on the dialogue responses selected.

It is possible this could change in future updates, or events beyond the four-hearts encounters.

Below is every romanceable character, their personality, and everything players need to know to take them on a date.

This breakdown is spoiler-free. It will not include the details of the events unless it is required for clear direction.

Celine

Birthday: 14th of Summer

Celine is a cheerful, plant-loving gardener who often stops by to lend you a helping hand. Her family owns the General Store and she’s often found helping out in the shop or her garden just outside of town.

2-Heart Event

After reaching two hearts with Celine, players will receive a letter in the mail titled “The Unusual Seed”. After reading this letter, a quest by the same name will activate. Go to Celine’s house at any time to see the cutscene for this event.

4-Heart Event

Receive a letter in the mail titled “Water and Soil”. Go to her house when you have a moment!

6-Heart Event

Receive a letter in the mail titled “Sprout Brainstorm.” Go to her house when you have a chance to trigger the event.

8-Heart Event

Receive a letter from Celine titled “Join Me for A Picnic?” Meet her at her cottage to trigger the event. After she’s done with the preparations, you’ll enjoy a nice hike to the summit.

Juniper

Birthday: 26th of Fall

The mysterious Juniper runs the town bathhouse, but the cauldron in the main room suggests she’s up to something a little more magical as well. She often requests strange ingredients and asks you to sample her latest experiments.

2-Heart Event

After reaching two hearts with Juniper, the quest “Becoming Juniper’s Guinea Pig” becomes available. Meet Juniper at the bathhouse to view the cutscene.

4-Heart Event

After reaching four hearts with Juniper, players will receive a letter titled “I Require a Test Subject”. This will start the quest “Horsing Around”. Head to the bathhouse at any time to start the cutscene.

6-Heart Event

Receive a letter titled “Some Chores.” Meet her at her room in the bathhouse. Change of clothes may or may not be necessary.

Reina

Birthday: 12th of Fall

Reina’s parents own Mistria’s Sleeping Dragon Inn. She can often be found in the inn’s kitchen, cooking up something delicious. She has a bright and friendly attitude that always brings a little sunshine to your day.

After reaching two hearts with Reina, players will receive the letter “In Need of a Taste Tester”. This will start the quest “Pie in the Sky”. Head to the Inn at any time to trigger the event.

4-Heart Event

Receive a letter “Let’s go shopping!” Meet her in the general store to trigger the event!

6-Heart Event

You’ll receive a letter titled “A Favor” in the mail. This will create the quest, “Farm Fresh Sous Chef.” Go to the the Inn to trigger the event!

Valen

Birthday: 1st of Fall

Valen runs the health clinic in town, and she’s got a stock of potions to help you replenish your stamina. She is friendly yet professional and can often be found chatting with Juniper.

2-Heart Event

After reaching two hearts with Valen, players can grab the quest “The Annual Check-Up” from the community board. Go to the clinic at any time to trigger this event.

4-Heart Event

Receive a letter titled “Medicinal Research”. Bring Valen a single Peat to the clinic to trigger the event!

6-Heart Event

Receive a letter titled “Research Assistance.” Valen is asking you to meet her at Juniper’s Bathhouse. Go there to trigger the event!

March

Birthday: 16th of Spring

March is a grouchy blacksmith who doesn’t open up easily to newcomers. He usually has a harsh word for the player early on but is still always willing to help out. On Friday nights at the Sleeping Dragon Inn, you see his softer and friendlier side.

After reaching two hearts with March, players will get a letter titled “Hey”. This will activate the quest “Surprise Me”. Enter March’s home at any time to trigger the cutscene.

Reward: Special Copper Hoe

4-Heart Event

Receive a letter from Olric titled “Blacksmithing Buddies”. Meet your best wingman at the forge to trigger the event!

8-Heart Event

Receive a visit from a worried Olric first thing in the morning. He’ll explain March didn’t come home last night, and the last thing he said was he wanted to talk to you.

Adeline

Birthday: 18th of Winter

Adeline is the capable and organized interim leader of Mistria while her noble parents are away. She’s also the one who originally asked you to come help out. She has no fair share of ideas for restoring the town and will happily include you in all of them.

After reaching two hearts with Adeline, players will get a letter titled “Official Town Business”. This will activate the quest “The Smell of Drying Ink”. Head to the Manor at any time to trigger the cutscene.

4-Heart Event

After reaching four hearts with Adeline, players receive the letter “Official Town Business”. This activates the heart quest “A Rewarding Choice”. Head to the Manor at any time to trigger the cutscene.

Dialogue:

Choose the cookie to obtain a cookie (this is being tested in a second save file for confirmation.)

Choose materials to get x25 Wood and x25 stone

6-Heart Event

Receive a letter from Adeline titled “Inspection Help”. Meet her at the inspection board to trigger the event!

8-Heart Event

Receive a letter from Adeline titled “Join Me for Some Tea?” Meet her at the Manor House to trigger the event. After she’s done working, you’ll enjoy a cup of tea together and some lemon pie.

Ryis

Birthday: 4th of Spring

Ryis is a cheerful but relatively quiet woodworker who co-runs the woodworking shop with their uncle, Landen. Ryis can often be found at the woodworking shop, working on the latest project.

2-Heart Event

After reaching two hearts with Ryis, players will receive a letter from Landen asking for 15 pieces of wood. This will trigger the quest “Bird Song”. Bring the wood to Landen to trigger the cutscene.

4-Heart Event

Receive a letter titled “Help with a Tree” from Ryis. Meet him in his room at the carpenter’s store to trigger the event!

6-Heart Event

After reaching six hearts with Ryis, you’ll need to start the quest “A Birdhouse.” Receive a letter titled “Building Project” and meet Ryis at the Carpenter’s Shop to trigger the event!

Hayden

Birthday: 8th of Winter

Hayden is your fellow farming enthusiast, running Sweetwater Farm. He’s an animal lover, often seen talking about his beloved hen Henrietta. He is frequently hard at work on his farm, where you can also buy your livestock to raise.

After reaching two hearts with Hayden, players will get a letter called “A Get Together”. After getting the letter head to Hayden’s home at any time to activate the cutscene.

4-Heart Event

Receive a letter titled “Extra Feed”. Meet Hayden at his house to trigger the event!

6-Heart Event

You’ll receive a letter titled “Socialize Henrietta” in the mail. This will create the quest, “Real Fine Day.” Go meet Hayden at the General Store to trigger the event!

Balor

Birthday: 10th of Summer

Balor is a traveling merchant who is so dedicated to his trade that he braves Mistria even after the earthquake. He has a cart just outside the city and can be seen running around town. While he’s often busy going from one place to the next, he always has a little time to chat with you.

After reaching two hearts with Balor, a quest called “Tall, Dark, and Mysterious” will become available on the community board. Take this quest and talk to Balor to trigger the cutscene.

4-Star Event

Players will receive a letter after reaching four hearts with Balor titled “Business Chat”. This unlocks the “An Open Book” heart quest. Head to the Inn to trigger the cutscene.

6-Star Event

To start the “Join me for a Meal?” quest, you’ll need to reach heart level six. At that point, you will receive a letter titled “Join me for a Meal?” Meet Balor at the Inn to trigger the event. 

Eiland

Birthday: 20th of Summer

Eiland is one of Mistria’s nobles, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t approachable. This history lover is enthusiastic about archaeology and is always happy to chat about finding historical artifacts at the Western Ruins.

After reaching two hearts with Eiland, players will get a letter from Eiland called “The Stele”. This triggers a quest of the same name. Meet Eiland at the Manor to trigger this event.

4-Star Event

Receive a letter titled “To the Ruins!” Meet Eiland at the Western Ruins to trigger the event!

6-Star Event

After reaching level six Eiland, you will receive a letter titled “Unexpected Turn.” This will start a quest of the same name. Meet Eiland at his home in the manor to trigger the event!

Caldarus

Caldarus is the ancient guardian spirit of Mistria, taking the form of a majestic stone dragon who resides on your farm. Though mysterious and otherworldly, Caldarus is surprisingly open to conversation and affection. As you grow your farm and strengthen your bond with the town, Caldarus begins to show up more often, especially in your dreams.

Can You Date Multiple Characters in Fields of Mistria?

Yes, you can date more than one character at the same time.

That said, you can only marry one eventually.

Can You Get Married in Fields of Mistria?

As of the early access release, you cannot get married in Fields of Mistria. This is a feature that will come at a later time. Once released, we will update this guide with all the information needed to tie the knot with each character.

How to Raise Heart Levels in Fields of Mistria

Players can raise NPC heart levels by speaking to them and giving gifts.

Liked and Loved gifts increase heart levels more quickly while giving hated gifts can damage progress.

Can You Give More Than One Gift a Day?

No, players can only give NPCs a single gift per day. This includes birthdays.

How Many Heart Events Are Currently Available?

As of the early access launch, players can unlock the 2-heart, 4-heart, 6-heart, and 8-heart romance events with each romanceable character. Additional events will be added in updates as the game progresses through early access.

Is LGBTQA+ Marriage Available in Fields of Mistria

Yes! Queer marriage is available, and all romanceable characters can be dated regardless of the player’s identity.

Can You Have Kids in Fields of Mistria

As of the early access release, it is not possible to have kids. However, it has been confirmed this mechanic will be added in a later update. This section will be updated when more information becomes available.
