It has been just over a month since the North American release of the HIFIMAN HE6 Remastered hit the market, and so far, the new luxury headphones have been pulling in the praise. While these headphones come in at an eye-watering price, they offer almost everything an audiophile could want. The success they are currently enjoying, however, comes from the care HIFIMAN put into the overhaul of the original HE6 design.
I currently use the ROG Kithara Gaming Headset, a collaboration piece between ROG and HIFIMAN that combines HiFi listening with clean gaming audio. The open-back headphones have been my go-to for everyday listening and gaming for months. This comes down to the quality of HIFIMAN’s planar magnetic technology, which delivers clean, clear sound.
While I won’t be purchasing the HE6 Remastered Headphones for myself, the $1,899 price tag is not and will never be in my budget; those who can drop money on the Ferrari of sound will want to consider this upgraded flagship when looking for a new set.
Lighter, Better, Faster, Stronger
As outlined in the blog post shared by HIFIMAN in July, the HE6 Remaster has put a good deal of effort into improving the entire build of the original HE6, from sound to overall fit and finish.
The headphones feature the Headband Gen.2 composite headband, which was designed to help with overall weight and comfort. Not only does it take a good 28g off the build, but it also offers superior comfort and wearability.
In addition to this, Headfonics has scored the HE6 Remastered at a 9.1 of 10 in its review of the headphones, applauding its technical performance and excellent Bass/Treble balance. The review did point out that a pair of headphones this intense will need a powerful amp, though anyone dropping this kind of cash on something this powerful will likely have something to give it the correct power.
In short, the HIFIMAN HE6 Remastered delivers the perfect combination of incredible driver power with modern upgrades, redefining HiFi sound, even if the cost may be out of the average audiophile’s budget.
Bonus Action has not had a chance to go hands-on with these headphones, so we aren’t able to give a solid recommendation on whether or not to purchase the HE6 Remaster, but the current feedback from reviews points to it as a contender for one of the best Luxury releases of 2026.
