Riftbound has taken off at a breakneck speed since its release to English audiences in October. Popular League of Legends characters have taken up the mantle as Champions, and players have been eager to jump in and test their tabletop skills at this new TCG. However, Origins was just the start, as the newly announced Spiritforged expansion is already offering glimpses at new mechanics and cards like Bubble Bot.
The Spiritforged expansion for Riftbound will release on February 13, 2026, to English audiences, bringing a slew of new options that will diversify playstyles and offer new strategies. Bubble Bot is a new unit type under the Mind Rune cards. Its strength comes in prepping other Mechs, making it a great early-game option.
Below is an early look at Bubble Bot as provided to Bonus Action via Riot Games.
Bubble Bot Adds New Options For Early Game Setup
Bubble Bot will be a card to put in Mind Rune decks with other Mech cards. It offers three Might, and is a strategy card instead of a heavy hitter. This card is perfect for players looking to accelerate Mech units in order to overtake battlefields quickly. However, players will want to be careful that Bubble Bot doesn’t get taken out before it’s served its purpose.
Bubble Bot would be perfect to play alongside Breakneck Mech and Prize of Progress. It would go well in decks with Champions like Bard, Ezreal, or Ornn.
Pair Your Mechs with Powerful Equipment

Bubble Bot jumps to the aid of players alongside the new Equipment mechanic that will debut in Spiritforged. Equipment items are a type of Gear that offer special boosts to those who use them. They attach to Units and provide an attribute seen in the second textbox.
For example, Experimental Hexplate can attack a Mind Unit, and when done, it turns that card into a Mech and adds an additional point of Might.
This comes with two new mechanics: Weaponmaster and Quickdraw, which will be found on cards with abilities relating to Equipment. Quickdraw allows players to attach Equipment as a reaction, while Weaponmaster allows players to attach Equipment at a reduced cost.
These new cards and mechanics are perfect for spicing up gameplay in Riftbound and add a new dimension to the base gameplay introduced during Origins. The new pieces don’t feel overwhelming, and should challenge some of the already forming meta around specific early deck builds. With Spiritforged just a few months away, players will want to keep an eye on newly revealed cards and plan for their next deck and what new mechanics they may want to focus on.
