At the time of writing, it’s the 10th anniversary of the launch of Alien Isolation. The game redefined what survival horror fans could expect from games, even if some reviewers didn’t think it was that great at the time. Now, thanks to a collaboration between Sega and LoFi Girl, you can listen to a full hour of hauntingly mellow beats while you wait for the sequel.

That’s right, in addition to an incredible new soundtrack to relax you into your nightmares, Alien Isolation 2 has been confirmed. Details on the sequel are minimal, and all we know is that it’s in the works. Coupled with the Lofi tunes, it’s a very exciting time to be a fan of this franchise.

Tunes to Chill You to the Bone

If you’re not aware of what LoFi Girl is, it’s a YouTube channel that streams Lofi songs for anyone to tune in to. I find them really helpful for when I just need to sit down and write something and need background noise that isn’t going to overwhelm my senses but also isn’t so calm I fall asleep.

This Alien Isolation collaboration is incredibly interesting. While the songs aren’t outright terrifying, they’re also not as relaxing or soulful as the traditional tunes I’m used to hearing from LoFi Girl are. However, that’s to be expected from a project that looks like a horror game.

There’s a tension in these sounds, and I personally really like that. After all, it’s based on Alien Isolation‘s soundtrack, which is a horror game you’d expect tension from.

But what about Alien Isolation 2? As you can see in the statement shared all over social media from Al Hope, the game’s director, the game is absolutely in development.

If you’ve never played it, now is the time to do so. The game was built with amazing attention to detail when it comes to its inspiration. It’s like stepping into the first Alien movie, with retro sci-fi technology all around you and becoming a focal point of the title as you move through it.

We don’t have any sort of release date or even details on what Alien Isolation 2 will be. My only hope for it is that it remains as faithful to the franchise as the first game was, and I’m sure that the team behind it only wants to do just that.
