After over a decade apart, Square Enix is turning back time on Life is Strange to reunite Max Caulfield and Chloe Price in Life is Strange: Reunion. Square Enix revealed the game today during a special livestream presentation, confirming the next major chapter in the long-running narrative adventure series.
The announcement follows weeks of teasing from the publisher, including a message encouraging fans to “separate the real from the rumor.” With today’s presentation, Square Enix delivered the first official look at the game’s title, premise, and release window while finally addressing the speculation that had been building across the community.
Life is Strange: Reunion Preorders Are Live
Life is Strange: Reunion is set to launch on March 26, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game is being developed by Deck Nine Games, the studio behind Life is Strange: True Colors and Life is Strange: Double Exposure, and will feature both protagonists as playable characters, marking the first time the series has allowed players to control two returning leads in a single mainline entry. Max’s time manipulation abilities will once again play a central role in solving puzzles and shaping the story, while Chloe’s interactions are expected to influence dialogue outcomes and character relationships.
The reveal confirms several rumors that had been circulating ahead of the announcement. Earlier this month, a leaked ratings board listing and multiple insider reports suggested the next Life is Strange game would focus on Max and Chloe, take place at Caledon University, and center around a large-scale disaster. Square Enix’s presentation validated those claims by confirming the title, returning characters, and campus setting that had been mentioned in the leaks.

Preorders are now live across all platforms. The Standard Edition, priced at $39.99 USD, includes the base game and a preorder bonus of Max and Chloe Classic Outfits. The Deluxe Edition, $49.99 USD, adds digital extras including a mini soundtrack, digital art book, digital comic, and a behind-the-scenes documentary. The Twin Pack, priced at $59.99 USD, bundles Reunion with Life is Strange: Double Exposure Standard Edition. A Collector’s Edition exclusive to the Square Enix Store is available for $99.99 USD and features additional physical collectibles, including a vinyl soundtrack, poster, and art cards.
With Life is Strange: Reunion, Deck Nine appears to be closing the book on the storyline that began with the original game in 2015. While Square Enix has not confirmed whether future entries will continue with these characters or return to the anthology format, this installment is positioned as a major continuation of Max and Chloe’s arc.
More details are expected to be shared in the coming weeks, including extended gameplay footage and additional story information. For now, fans can look forward to revisiting one of the franchise’s most beloved duos when Life is Strange: Reunion launches next spring.
