A new Sonic the Hedgehog podcast is coming later this month, and it will be a noir-style mystery starring the one and only Chaotix Detective Agency. Sega’s hyper-fast mascot is celebrating his 35th anniversary in 2026, and there will be plenty of exciting Sonic projects to mark the milestone.
One of these will be a humorous new audio-drama centered around the Chaotix crew: the three-person team of Vector the Crocodile, Espio the Chameleon, and Charmy Bee. This bumbling trio of detectives has been making Sonic fans laugh since their debut in 1995’s Knuckles’ Chaotix, and now they are set to take the starring role in their latest case.
Vector And Company Are On The Case In The Chaotix Casefiles
As announced on the official Sonic The Hedgehog YouTube channel, Sonic Presents: The Chaotix Casefiles is a new podcast set to launch on January 27, 2026. As the title suggests, it will focus on Vector, Espio, and Charmy as they unravel a new mystery that will send them across the world and could very well spell disaster for the intrepid trio.
Other characters like Sonic and Dr. Eggman will appear, and even seem to be voiced by their in-game actors, Rodger Craig Smith and Mike Pollock. The preview for Sonic Presents: The Chaotix Casefiles also mentions an “unidentified red intruder,” which could be a reference to Knuckles or Shadow.
There is a very retro-style, noir flavor to the podcast, which is just perfect for a detective group like the Chaotix. Of course, the Sonic franchise is no stranger to mystery, as demonstrated by 2023’s surprise hit The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog.
It won’t be long before the Chaotix Detective Agency embarks on their latest case, as Sonic Presents: The Chaotix Casefiles will be released wherever podcasts are streamed on January 27. Fans should expect plenty of tongue-in-cheek thrills along the way. And saxophones. Lots of saxophones.
