In a less-than-shocking turn of events, Grand Theft Auto 6 has been delayed once again. The latest entry in Rockstar’s legendary open-world crime series is undoubtedly one of the most highly anticipated games of the past decade, with its initial trailer sending shockwaves across the internet back in late 2023.
Since then, gamers have been eagerly awaiting the release of Grand Theft Auto 6, all while remaining wary of Rockstar delaying the game like it did for Red Dead Redemption 2. Sure enough, Grand Theft Auto 6 would eventually be held back from its initial 2025 launch window to May 26, 2026 – and now it seems like fans are going to have to wait even longer to dive back into Vice City.
Grand Theft Auto 6 Delayed Until November 19, 2026
In a recent Twitter post, Rockstar Games announced that Grand Theft Auto 6 has been delayed for a second time and is now set to launch on November 19, 2026. The studio says that this delay is meant to allow the development staff more time to polish the game, and apologized for adding even more time to what is already a long wait for excited gamers.
As mentioned before, Grand Theft Auto 6 is one of the biggest upcoming video game releases, so much so that other game developers have been reportedly holding back their own big titles to avoid competition with Rockstar’s open-world blockbuster.
Set in the fan-favorite Vice City and its home state of Leonida, Grand Theft Auto 6 will focus on two playable protagonists in the form of Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. This criminal couple has been compared to Bonnie and Clyde, and is looking to make a name for themselves amid the chaos of a typical Grand Theft Auto game.
It has been a long wait for Grand Theft Auto 6, and now players will have to hold on just a little bit longer to wreak havoc in the Floridia-inspired Leonida. On the bright side, this latest delay will give Rockstar even more time to ensure that GTA 6 reaches the high bar of quality already set by the studio’s past titles.
