Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 - All Dataslate Locations

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 is a near-perfect action shooter, and its world is one of the best representations of the grim, dark future of humanity that the franchise has ever seen.

What helps make its world so great is the addition of Dataslates, a collectible with audio logs that tie into the story and add that extra bit of depth and flavor. They also net you an achievement, so that’s a bonus.

There are 35 Dataslates to find across the campaign and the co-op Operations mode, and this guide will detail where to find them in each of the game’s missions.

Campaign

These Dataslates can be found in the main campaign missions. We have separated them by mission for your convenience.

	During the first mission, when you first enter the swamp, hang left till you find two reddish bulb-like plants. Head through them and find the first slate with a chain sword and bolter.
	At the broken bridge, jump down and follow the path up to the other side. Keep heading forward past the broken tower. Jump down the ledge, and you’ll find the slate by a dead Guardsman.
	After clearing the Tyranids outside the bunker and entering inside, you’ll come to a corridor with a fan with a white light behind it. To your left is a staircase. Head up the stairs; the slate will be in front of you.
	At the Planetary Defence Base, cross the bridge and head towards the lift; now, go around it on the right side, and the slate will be on the ground behind it.

	When you reach the metal bridge in the swamp, before crossing, take the ledge up, hang left, and head up a slop towards a broken-down tank. It’s behind the tank, along with some Tyranids.
	Once you enter the research facility after clearing the bridge, before turning right to the lift, go forward right in front of you into the red-lit alcove. It’s on the ground here.
	After going down into the bunker and dealing with rippers, you’ll come to a wide room. Look to the left and interact with the console. Follow the path till you come to a dead end with a fan. The slate is on the floor.
	Once you have the Jump Pack, when you enter the first cave, look up to your left, and you’ll see a ledge. Jump up onto it, and you’ll find the slate at the end of the walkway.

	After crossing the bridge following the massive Tyranid horde, turn left, head down the corridor then turn left onto the roof. It’s to your right.
	After using the large lift and heading towards the databanks, follow the path around towards the objective. When you come to the stairwell, turn right and head up to the top, follow the path, then take the first left, then left again till you are in a small corridor. The slate is to the right side.
	Following the Carnifex fight, clear the hangar area and enter the corridor after a brief wave of Tyranids. Continue down the corridor, and you’ll find the slate in a small room.

	After beating the Lictor and going up the lift, head towards the weapon pod, turn left, walk up the walkway, and just to the left is the slate.
	After dealing with the Chaos Space Marines for the first time and getting Chairon under control, follow the path down, and before going down the stairs towards more Chaos Space Marines, turn right into a little alcove. The slate is there.

	Before restoring power to the door, look at the door, turn left to find a weapon pod, and go past and into the small room behind. The slate is in this room on the table. Watch out for the mines.
	After using the Jump Pack and entering the ruins filled with dust (there will be dialogue about the dust ruining the packs), look up to the right, and you’ll see a ledge. Jump pack up onto this ledge, and the slate will be in front of you.
	After defending the Relay and the Hive Tyrant’s death, take the lift and enter the main room with Guardsmen burning Tyranids. Turn right towards the door, right again, then look to a little area. The slate is nestled in that space.

	After jump-packing up the ledges after destroying the Altar, you’ll find it at the top rock platform. Walk past the ammo crate; it is to the right amongst the graves.
	After the Battle Barge plan succeeds, hang left in the next Graveyard area as you make your way down. You’ll find a small alcove with a statue at the entrance, with the slate at the bottom.
	While in the dig site, after entering a large battle with chaos, you’ll enter a room and see an Imurah illusion. Walk up the stairs, and take a left into a small dark area. The slate is towards the back of this space.
	When you reach the wreckage with the antenna-like spikes and equipment/machinery, you will find a desk and a dead tech priest (Expect some dialogue about Tech Priests going too far). The slate is by that corpse.

	After exiting the underground tombs and making your way through the Imperial Guard, you’ll jump down a hole into some ruins. Turn left. Then right, and go ahead, finding the slate by a sitting Guardsman.
	Upon entering the tomb, with a fancy grave in its center, head around it and up the stairs to the left; you’ll find the slate.
	Upon talking with the Talaso squad and hearing they have finished their objective, you will be in some ruins with a power hammer weapon to the left of you. Turn right and head around the ruin, and you’ll find the slate there.

Operations

These are all the Dataslate locations found in the co-op operations mode. There are only 2 per mission, and like our campaign layout, these are separated by mission. As a little side note, these Dataslates are often found toward the beginning and end of an Operation.

	At the start of the mission, before heading to the camp, head right towards some ruins and enter inside. Keep moving forward, and when you reach the dead end, look left, and you’ll see the slate.
	While moving to the observation platform, be sure to take the alternate route that leads into a large room filled with debris and a wrecked tank. Hang left and walk up the ramp past the tank, and keep going along the till you find a small alcove. The slate is sitting on a table here.

	When you enter the large catherdral. Head up the stairs, then take a hard right and walk all the way up the stairs to the balcony area. Enter this area, and to the left is the slate.
	When you are pursuing the Hive Tyrant, you’ll enter into an underground area with some enemies. When you enter the large open area, turn left and head towards the back, then turn right into a little alcove in the far corner; the slate is just here to the right.

	After taking the lift up near the beginning of the level, head right down the slope, look left, and you’ll see a staircase. Head up the stairs and hang left into a small room. The slate is at the back of a box.
	After descending down the lift to the first floor, you’ll come to a open room. Look to the right and head towards some stairs and equipment. The slate is on top of the boxes.

	At the beginning of the Operation, you’ll come to a large room with a console and gate, tasked with finding a fusion core. Upon dropping down to the console, turn left and head the stairs towards the back area, the slate is just to the right of the archway.
	During the Heldrake attack on the bridge, you’ll occasionally enter builds for cover. Upon entering the first big building (which will have stairs for you to climb), Hang right, and you’ll enter a balcony-like area. The slate is on the right side.

	After clearing the passage and dropping down to the loadout pod, take a left and head back towards the back end of this ruins area. At the back of the room, you’ll find a corpse with the slate next to it.
	When you are climbing the ramps towards the Sword of Atreus, before heading up the last slope, look left, and you’ll see an opening. Follow it round, and the slate is at the end on a crate.

	After clearing the sandstorm and entering the facility, hang to the right, and you’ll come to a small room. the slate is on the table just to the left when you enter.
	When you enter the depot area with wrecked vehicles, you’ll drop down into the open area. Hang left until you come across a tank nestled in the corner near some rubble. The slate is just to the left side of the tank.
