Like the Fishing Rod, the Net won’t be available when you first start exploring Moonlight Peaks. This handy, bug-catching device is given as a gift after a chance encounter with Death. However, there are several steps that you’ll need to complete before the steward of souls appears.
The Net is a key tool in Moonlight Peaks that allows players to catch bugs and gather Soul Blobs. Without it, there is no way to interact with the many insects and floating entities that inhabit the forests surrounding Moonlight Peaks.
In this guide, we will cover how to get the Net and how to use it while playing Moonlight Peaks.
How to Find the Net in Moonlight Peaks

To find the Net, you will need to encounter Death twice after unlocking the Misty Shores Biome and the Ambrosia Graveyard. The Misty Shores biome, which houses the Ambrosia Estate, is tethered to the quest “A Bridge Too Far”, in which Orlock discovers that Fiona has cursed the bridge to his home following a drunken argument.
How to Complete “A Bridge Too Far” Quest
The “A Bridge Too Far” quest becomes available after completing the tutorial quest “Orlock’s Wine Scheme”. After delivering the wine to Orlock, it is revealed that he and his children, Evan and Mina, are unable to return home due to a curse on the bridge. Orlock is convinced that it was Fiona.
However, after talking to both parties, it is discovered that Orlock said a few unflattering things about Fiona, leading her to curse the bridge in revenge. To complete the quest, you will need to do the following:
- Speak with Orlock at The Broken Lamp and pay the 299G tab he has collected.
- Speak with Mina when she arrives at your home to get the 299G returned.
- Head to Fiona’s house
- Learn that she is unable to fix the bridge on her own.
- Recruit Sabrina, Luna, and Noel
- Return to the bridge that connects to the Misty Shores biome
Once the cutscene has concluded, you will be able to cross into the Ambrosia Estate.
How to Meet Death
To find Death, return to the Ambrosia Estate the day after unlocking the Misty Shores Biome. Once you have arrived, visit the Ambrosia Graveyard to the right of the estate. Here, you will have your first encounter with Death.
During this brief introduction, Death won’t say much, but you will learn that they are into strange festive, tropical shirts.
However, it’s the second encounter that is critical to getting the Net.
How to Catch Soul Blobs & Bugs With the Net

After speaking with Death in the Ambrosia Graveyard, go about your day and then head to bed. The next day, head into town to get pulled into another cutscene with Death.
In this cutscene, Death will give you the Net as a way to catch Soul Blobs. These glowing skulls can be found everywhere and can be caught for rewards from Death.
To use the Net, use the right bumper to select it from your tool wheel. Then you can sneak up on the bug or Soul Blob and swing using the “Y” button. Soul Blobs aren’t stored in your inventory. To see which you have caught, you will need to check the almanac in your menu bar.
Once you have unlocked the Net in Moonlight Peaks, you will have the ability to start grinding toward important rewards like the Antique Clock, which slows down time in the in-game settings. With so many exciting rewards to claim, it is good to get busy catching Soul Blobs as soon as possible.
Still here? Good.
