Once you have your farm set up in Moonlight Peaks and a barn built for animals, it is time to start making cheese. To do this, a Cheese Press is needed, but like other crafting machines, it is locked behind a few requirements.
The Cheese Press creates three types of cheese that are made from different farm animals that you can raise. These animals are purchased from Luna after you build your first barn. However, it can take a bit to earn the funds to buy your first dairy-producing critter.
In this guide, we will go over how to get the Cheese Press in Moonlight Peaks, what is needed to unlock the blueprint, and what types of cheese you can make once it is built.
How to Unlock the Cheese Press in Moonlight Peaks

To unlock the Cheese Press, you must milk a dairy-producing animal living on your farm for the first time. The morning after getting milk, Luna will send you a letter that contains the blueprint for the Cheese Maker. However, getting to this step requires a few additional projects.
The first, and most important, of these tasks is building a Barn. The Barn is for sale at Ridge’s Store, the Howling Hammer. It won’t require any materials, but it does cost 4,000G. This is a steep fee when first getting started in Moonlight Peaks.
After the barn has been placed and built, you will need to visit Luna’s farm and purchase a dairy-producing farm animal. This includes:
- Draculamb – 4,500G
- Piggoat – 3,500G
- Cowcula – 6,000G
The availability of these farm animals changes every day. Luna offers three different animals at any given time, but we do recommend getting a Cheeken before getting a dairy animal, as the eggs provide fast stamina when cooked.
How to Craft the Cheese Maker in Moonlight Peaks

After receiving the Cheese Press blueprint, it can be crafted at your workbench. It will require the following resources:
- x10 Planks
- x5 Iron Bars
- x5 Copper Bars
Once the Cheese Maker has been crafted, it can be placed anywhere inside or outside as long as there is nothing blocking the desired location.
Once placed, players can make three types of cheese. The include:
- Cheese – x1 Cowcula Milk
- Hellfeta – x1 Piggoat Milk
- Ghoulembert – x1 Draculamb Milk
These cheeses can be eaten, sold, or used in cooking. They also make amazing gifts for cheese lovers living in town. They can also be used as decorations, if you want a few little cheeses to make your Moonlight Peaks house just a little bit cuter – and stinkier – to spend time in.
