Lady Zolta is one of the loudest recruits in Sovereign Tower, and one of the easiest to write off as pure muscle before her scenes slow down.
She’s a feared mercenary from the Kutnar camps with the highest Luck stat of any knight on the roster and a lightning power she won on a dare she was never supposed to survive. Underneath the cackling is a woman with a lifelong rival hiding in your own Tower, and a found-family backstory she’ll only tell you if you actually stick around to listen.
This Zolta guide covers everything you need, including how to recruit her, her favourite meals, the quest types she actually enjoys, and every dialogue choice across all three of her affinity events.

How to Unlock Zolta

To unlock Zolta, you’ll need to cheat during the Kutnar questline. There are four ways to get there:
- Send Tarcus specifically on “Rush in Laik Valley,” Kutnar’s first quest, as a dedicated outcome only triggers for Tarcus, and it routes the very next audience straight into a cheating scandal.
- At the second Kutnar audience, pick either “(Lie) We’ll participate… in due form” or “I know a shortcut. We’ll be delighted to join you.” Both unlock the quest “Cheat through treacherous mountains”
- Send Tarcus on either treacherous-mountains race, honest or cheating. His outcome diverts you to an abrupt-ending audience where the Count asks whether all these collapsing rivals aren’t a bit strange.
- Send a knight riding a non-horse mount on a summit quest.
The next day, Zolta will show up on your tower offering to join your roundtable, for a price. You’ll need to pay 250 Funds for her to join you, though.
Interactions
One-Heart Event
Zolta is mid-training, sending sparks flying with every blow. Let her keep going or announce yourself, either way a stray bolt cracks the ceiling.
Dialogue Choices:
“Are you all right, Lady Zolta?” (−Affinity.)
“Impressive as always.” (no affinity change.)
Dialogue Choices:
“Why are you so eager to improve? You’re already the best mercenary in Kutnar, aren’t you?” (no affinity change)
“Is it just to hide your age?” (+Affinity.)
Two-Heart Event
You catch Zolta in the kitchen, and she recognizes your footsteps before she even turns around: “I can recognize the sound of every resident’s footsteps in this Tower. And yours are… hmmm… how to say?”
Dialogue Choices:
“Heavy and noisy?” (no affinity change)
“Understated yet sensual?” (no affinity change)
“A step is a step.” (−Affinity. “Hmph how ignorant…”)
She explains her power lets each person’s presence vibrate differently against her senses, then immediately second-guesses herself: “Wait, when I put it that way, it does sound a little strange, right?” This is the scene’s real fork.
Dialogue Choices:
“You’re bluffing.” (−Affinity)
“A bit cracked, after all?” (+Affinity)
“And here I was thinking it was the sounds of my bulging muscles…” (+Affinity)
Only the last two options continue the scene. She asks if you want to hear how she got the power.
Dialogue Choices:
“I’m listening.” (+Affinity, and unlocks the full backstory)
“(Lie) Of course!” (−Affinity, and the conversation ends here instead.”)
Dialogue Choices:
“You’d do it again, wouldn’t you?” (+Affinity. “OF COURSE! EVERYDAY.”)
“No one should shy away from more power.” (+Affinity. “I wouldn’t have expected anything less from the person I work for!”)
Three-Heart Event
Zolta is reading, unimpressed by scholars who’ve never set foot in the lands they write about. Startle her, or announce yourself properly, and she admits she’s more comfortable here than you’d expect, half nostalgia, half genuine appreciation for the writing.
Ask what she’s fond of and she tells you about the furthest east she’s ever traveled, and a little orphan girl who used to follow her around as a disciple, one Zolta clearly loved without ever quite saying so: “that little scoundrel grew. Enough for her to discover the world on her own. And that memory is something I wouldn’t swap for anything in the world. Nor for power. Nor for victory.”
Dialogue Choices:
“I’m always up for hearing your stories, Lady Zolta.”
“A touch of sentimentality. I see.”
Still here? Good.
