How to Start Farming in Fae Farm – All Soil Beds

Unlike other farming sims, players can’t till any earth outside of their farmhouse in Fae Farm. Instead, they will have to build Soil Beds. Below are all the soil bed types and how to craft them.

All Fertilizer Recipes in Fae Farm

Alongside Soil Beds, farmers will need magically enhanced fertilizers to speed up growth, increase harvest, and mutate crops. Below are all the crop types and how to buy or craft them.
| Image | Name | Craft | Buy |
|---|---|---|---|
![]() | Zippy Fertilizer Speeds up growth | x1 Mulch x1 Bug Juice x1 Sand Dollar | Holly – 35G Asphodel – 35G |
![]() | Bounteous Fertilizer Increases harvest | x1 Mulch x1 Flutter Dust x1 Coral | Holly – 35G Asphodel – 35 G |
![]() | Magic Crop Swap Fertilizer Chance to obtain seasonal or fae crop varients | x1 Mulch x1 Frog Sweat x1 Ammonite | Holy – 50G Asphodel – 50G |
Crafting fertilizer is a far more cost-effective method for players and requires the Garden Bench. It required the following materials:
- x3 Oak Lumber
- x15 Clay
- x15 Silt
Be sure to save up items listed in the fertilizer recipes, as having them on hand will ensure garners can craft plenty of each option for farming projects.
How to Breed Flowers in Fae Farm

Breeding flowers in Fae Farm requires players to combine two flowers for a new genetic variant.
To do this, you will need to follow these steps:
- Create a minimum 2×3 tile of Flower Soil Beds
- In the first two squares of the grid, put down one color of seeds
- Leave the next two squares open
- Place the last two squares, put down the other color of seeds
This method will force offspring flowers to spawn in the empty spaces between the two rows.
We also tried the checkerboard pattern, as seen above. This does work but leaves more room for flowers of the same color as the parent seeds to spawn. This can make the project more lengthy and also take up more space.
All flowers have two genes, which can be seen when the player hovers over the flower with the cursor. Red Rose blooms have two red genes, while Pink Rose blooms have white and red genes.
How to Make Pink Flowers in Fae Farm
One of the first challenges players receive in Fae Farm is from Rosalind, who will give players Red Rose, White Lily, and Yellow Tulip seeds. Using the Red Rose and White Lily Seeds, create the Flower Soil Bed grid and wait for a pink flower to spawn.
If red or white flowers spawn in the two empty spaces, harvest the flowers and remove the seeds to free the Soil Bed for new offspring.
How to Get Blue, Green, and Magenta Flowers in Fae Farm
To get the Blue, Green, and Magenta flower starts in Fae Farm, players must reach the Fae Realm and buy them from the Fae botanist Asphodel. Until they are purchased, breeding will be limited to the colors obtained from the Red, White, and Yellow seeds at the start of the game.
All Flower Colors and How To Breed Them in Fae Farm
To get every color variation in Fae Farm, players will need to mix and match base colors using the breeding grid above. Below are all the colors that can be obtained via mixing, and how to get them.
- Orange – Breed Yellow and Red
- Black – Breed Magenta and Green
- Pink – Breed Red and White
- Teal – Breed Blue and Green
- Violet – Breed Blue and Magenta
- Ivory – Breed Yellow and White
Players can mix colors between flowers regardless of species. For example, you can use a Blue Tulip and a Magenta Lily to breed Violet of either species. Repeat this process for every flower type until all are bred in each color variation.
All Flower Types in Fae Farm
There are Six different flower species in Fae Farm. These include the following:
- Rose
- Lily
- Tulip
- Hyacinth
- Zinnia

The first three are bought from Rosalind while the next three are purchased from Asphodel. They are only available in the base colors.

These can mutate in any season, but require a Fae Soil Bed to grow. They can also be mutated on the farmland of Fae Acres.
The Fae Soil Bed unlocks after players reach the blizzard quests midway through the game. We are just reaching this point in our playthrough and will update you with quest information when we have unlocked all the steps.
