The release date for Moonlight Peaks is just around the corner, and farming sim enthusiasts are ready to jump into the adorable, witchy farming game as soon as it is available. Thankfully, a surprise announcement during the Wholesome Direct 2026 Showcase has confirmed a new demo for the game, and it is available to play right now.
Moonlight Peaks, developed by Little Chicken and published by XSEED/Marvelous, is a unique farming sim that takes place in a town inhabited by magical beings – specifically witches, werewolves, and vampires, among other creatures of the night.
The game has quickly gained attention for its adorable art direction and magical premise, and fans of farming games have been eagerly awaiting its arrival. Currently, Moonlight Peaks is slated for release on July 7, 2026, across PC and Nintendo Switch/Switch 2.
Moonlight Peaks Demo Is Available Now
As announced during the Wholesome Direct 2026 Showcase and confirmed on the official Moonlight Peaks social media account, the demo for the game has gone live and is now available on Steam.
The Moonlight Peaks demo is free to play, and will allow fans to test key features of the game early. This includes flower arranging, embroidery, and fishing, among other cozy activities. It has also been announced that the game will cost $34.99 at launch, with a 15% launch discount available following the first week after the game’s release.
The new trailer for Moonlight Peaks gives updated looks at the core mechanics of the game. This includes farming, decorating, and interacting with the local residents. Players will also be able to use magic to interact with areas around the town, and try out minigames that are intended to add extra depth to traditional farming sim staples.
With the release date for Moonlight Peaks just a month away, now is a great time to jump in, try the demo, and wishlist the game on Steam or the Nintendo eShop.
