Bulky headphones that make ears claustrophobic after a few hours of listening aren’t the best option for most music listeners, but in a time of gamer headsets with hefty mics, that is often what we are left with. Even non-gamer brands have been opting for the “streamer” look, with bulky builds and RGB, but Sennheiser has dialed this back with the Accentum Plus Wireless headphones. The lightweight, sleek over-ear design is comfortable and delivers perfectly clear sound.
Sennheiser’s over-ear headphones are on a completely different level of quality than many other brands. While not decked out with everything the Momentum 4 has to offer, the sound quality is perfect, and all the core elements of a solid over-ear option are present – and at a reasonable price.

Built For Premium Sound

One of the first things to really nail home about the Accentum Plus Wireless headphones is the sound. While the Accentum True Wireless earbuds are amazing, the over-ear experience really shows off Sennheiser’s audio experience.
Sound comes through crystal clear, with plenty of space in the headphones’ body to capture every bit of bass and range perfectly. When I put them on and threw Taylor Swift’s “Vigilante Sh**” for the first time, it gave me goosebumps. The bass rolls through with such depth that it feels like you have a subwoofer on your head.
I was also very pleased with the vocal fidelity that the Accentum Plus Wireless was able to deliver. I tried this with Spotify, Tidal, and my own turntable, and I could hear the difference in the compression changes. I highly recommend trying these with your turntable when you get them because the sound is so beautiful it puts my speakers to shame.
Listening to anything with this set of headphones is a joy, and while it is not the best option for gaming, it is easily one of the best music-specific options I have tried to date. Having not compared them to the Momentum 4, I can only imagine what the next tier up in quality might sound like.
Touch Controls Are My Only Struggle

Call me old fashioned, but touch controls and I don’t get along. Unfortunately, the majority of the controls and switches for the Accentum Plus Wireless are toggled via a touch panel on the right side’s earpiece. This controls volume, play, and pause. It can also be used to answer calls.
I found myself regularly bumping these settings when I would adjust the headphones, fiddle with my hair, or get knocked or bumped by my toddler. It usually resulted in the volume being thrown to the highest setting.
For me, I’ll always prefer button controls, but that is definitely a personal preference. If you are a fan of the tap-and-go type of controls, these are for you. Everything is in one spot and easy to use once you get the hang of things. If you are an ear fiddler, beware the volume toggle.
Comfortable Earpieces, Tight Fit

The Accentum Plus Wireless is a fairly compact set of headphones. Unlike the SteelSeries fabric buffer that helps distribute weight, the Accentum Plus has a cushoned headpiece that can feel a bit tight after extended wears. I found myself loosening the fit a few times so that the pressure on the top of my head wouldn’t be so apparent.
However, the earphone cushions on this headset are lovely. They are made of a soft, breathable, leather-like fabric that doesn’t overheat and doesn’t create swamp ears like JBL earphones tend to.
The Accentum Plus also passes my ear test. I have huge ears, and they stick out like Disney’s Dumbo. Because of this, it can be difficult to find headphones that don’t pinch. For all my other big-eared listeners out there, the Accentum Plus has ear pieces big enough to accommodate even the largest audio satellite dishes on any head, and I had no issue with sore ears or red marks even after hours of listening.
Final Score – 8/10
At just under $200, the Sennheiser Accentum Plus Wireless headphones are a fantastic investment for music listeners. With a solid, durable build, comfortable earpieces, amazing battery life, and quality sound, you are getting a little bit of every premium feature expected of more expensive options.
While the touch controls weren’t for me, and the headband could be a bit tight, I continue to gravitate to these headphones over the other options I have available, and I can’t get enough of how beautiful every song played through them sounds.
If you are a vinyl fan, these are an investment more than worth making.
