Spirit City: Lofi Sessions combines time management and focus tools with a light spirit-collecting gaming element, resulting in the perfect cozy environment for nerds like us here at Bonus Action. One of the things we love about the game is how it lets you choose various hobbies and tasks for your avatar to do in-game, mirroring what you’re trying to get done in real life.
Knitting is just one of many hobbies your Spirit City avatar can get up to while you work. Now, an official contest encourages fans to combine their real-life crochet love with the spirits from the game. And yes, in addition to the chance to see tons of adorable spirits brought to life in crochet form, there are actual prizes!
Spirit City: Lofi Sessions Spirit Stitch Challenge Brings Study Buddies to Life
The Spirit Stitch Challenge runs from December 18, 2024, through January 14, 2025, and will have a total of six winners. To enter, Spirit City fans can follow the provided free patterns to crochet a critter from the game, and then post their finished creation to the official Spirit City Discord. For those who prefer to invent their own creation, any yarn, thread, or fabric rendering showcasing the world of Spirit City is eligible – not just designs that follow the free patterns.
Aside from the joy of creating your very own real-life spirit pal, the Spirit Stitch Challenge has two prize levels. The Grand Prize winner will get a $300 Steam Gift Card and the full collection of official Spirit City Mugs. Meanwhile, 5 Randomly Selected Winners will each receive a $25 Steam Gift Card along with one Spirit City mug of their choice. That’s enough to grab at least one cozy game, and it’ll certainly cover the upcoming Cozy Kitchen DLC for Spirit City.
As the contest has been underway for a few weeks now, many fans are starting to share their beautiful creations via social media using the #SpiritStitchChallenge.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the knitting-themed spider Arachknit is a wildly popular choice for this crochet contest, but crochet enthusiasts are also tackling spirits like Kettlebrew and the game’s mascot, Lenny the spirit cat. These little guys are looking so cuddly, I wish I could line my desk with all of them. I mean, just look at this little Arachknit variant created by the talented @Winter5862!
While the January 14 contest deadline is approaching fast, there’s still time for swift crochet fans to get their creations submitted for the prize. The full rules for the contest are available in Discord for anyone who wants to join in – or just spend some time scrolling through the truly impressive works of art that other entrants have already submitted.
For those who, like me, couldn’t even manage to crochet a donut without somehow winding up with a hole so small the crochet needle wouldn’t pass through it anymore, you can snag one of those Spirit City mugs and other merch from the official store.
