During the latest Nintendo Direct, Pokémon fans got a fresh look at the next part of the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass. With Bubbly Basin already out, Nintendo treated us to some new details about the next installment in the 3-part DLC. Part 2, which still doesn’t have an official name, got its first dedicated trailer during the showcase. It included some confirmed accessories for Pokémon and Ditto to enjoy, plus a few of the new Pokemon that will arrive with the DLC. However, one key detail was still absent: the release date.
Part 2 of the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass is supposed to release in late 2026. So, it would’ve made sense for Nintendo to confirm an exact release date during today’s trailer. However, that information was notably absent. Instead, fans simply got to see some of the adorable items our Pokémon pals will get to wear when it drops. We also got confirmation of at least 3 new Pokémon coming to the game with this next chapter. Here’s what we know about Part 2 of the Pokopia Expansion Pass so far.
Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass Part 2 Gets New Trailer But No Release Date

We already know that the first Pokopia Expansion Pass will have three waves of new content. The first part, Bubbly Basin, added a whole underwater area with a ton of new Pokémon to befriend. By contrast, Part 2 looks a good bit smaller. The DLC details confirm that a new area will not be added with this second wave of new content. However, beyond that and a few teasers, we didn’t have much to go on. Until today. The new Part 2 trailer shows off a few of the new accessories and Pokémon in more detail, giving us a better idea of what to expect. The second part of the Expansion Pass is set to release in 2026, but today’s trailer didn’t hone in on a specific release date.
Instead, we got a better look at new accessories. These include sunglasses, a Sylveon-inspired ribbon, a red bow tie, and a white hairbow. The trailer also confirmed that Duduo, Skitty, and Braixen will be added to Pokopia with this update. Presumably, their evolutions will come along for the ride as well, but they weren’t specifically shown during the trailer. The “there are even more Pokémon to meet” teaser suggests that, even without a new biome to explore, Part 2 will bring us some new pals to meet.
Part 2 is still expected in “late 2026,” with no confirmed release date. The Expansion Pass is currently available for purchase, with the Bubbly Basin content already available in-game. The 3-part Expansion Pass costs $34.99. Like the base game, this content is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2.
Part 3 is still largely shrouded in mystery for now, but it will add another new town. It is expected sometime in 2027. We’ll likely get details on that once Part 2 is out in the wild. Until then, you can check out our guide for help finding all the new Pokémon in the Bubbly Basin DLC.
Still here? Good.
