ARPGs like Diablo 4 or Path of Exile feature plenty of fast-paced combat. But they also lean quite heavily on crafting. To be strong enough to take on tougher bosses, you’ll need to craft better gear. If you love a good cozy game, you might even prefer the crafting to the actual combat portions. That’s where the upcoming indie game Teamcrafter comes in. In this game, you’re not the hero. You’re the one who makes sure they’ve got the best gear.
Teamcrafter began as a Kickstarter project back in 2025. Following their successful crowdfunding campaign, the developers at Teamcraft Studios are hard at work bringing their concept to life. And that includes a brand-new gameplay trailer that shows off just what we can expect from Teamcrafter. The new trailer launched alongside an updated demo, which lets players get hands-on with the concept to make sure they’re really as eager to step behind the forge as they think.
Teamcrafter Focuses on Resource Gathering & Crafting, But You’ll Get to See Your Heroes Succeed

In Teamcrafter, players step into the Craftist role. Rather than being the warrior wielding weapons, you’re the one who makes them. The gameplay loop involves exploring a lush pixel-art world to gather resources, then turning them into powerful weapons, armor, and more. But while you aren’t going to be the one doing the fighting, don’t worry. You will get to see your builds in action, even if you’re not the one actually wearing that mythic armor. You will equip Adventurers with your ideal build, then send them into battle. The fight itself functions via auto-battle, so your work is all in setting up the right party build. Then, you watch it play out before refining your technique for the next battle.
The team behind Teamcrafter also brought players the FFXIV Teamcraft tool, which lets players simulate their builds before heading into actual FF XIV battles. Now, they’re taking that same concept and using it to create an exciting new game for the crafting enthusiasts among us. To get a look at what they’ve been cooking up, you can check out the brand-new Teamcrafter gameplay trailer below:
If you like the looks of Teamcrafter, you don’t have to wait to check it out. Though the game doesn’t yet have a formal release date, it does have a free demo on Steam. The latest version of the demo shows off additional features, including a reworked crafting menu, newly redesigned character creator, and more. While a demo like this is far from a finished product, it can give you a sense of what the game will be like, plus the opportunity to give the devs valuable feedback.
Teamcrafter is available to wishlist on Steam. That’s also where you’ll find the new and improved free demo for the game.
