Creature collecting life sim Moonstone Island is a big hit for cozy gamers, bringing together all that we love about collecting critters, farming, and getting to know the locals. Unlike Stardew Valley and Neko Atsume, however, Nintendo Switch was as mobile as you could get with Moonstone Island. Until now.
Anime subscription service Crunchyroll recently announced that subscribers with the Mega Fan and Ultimate Fan membership tiers can now download and play Moonstone Island – on mobile!
Moonstone Island Mobile is a Crunchyroll Game Vault Exclusive
Crunchyroll isn’t just for anime anymore. The site now also offers a Game Vault full of free titles for Mega and Ultimate subscribers to enjoy. Similar to Netflix Games, the offerings include a variety of mobile games players can download through their subscription.
And now, the Crunchyroll Game Vault includes an exclusive mobile version of Moonstone Island.
It is available on Apple iOS and Google Play, and Crunchyroll premium subscribers can easily download it by scanning a QR code from the Game Vault webpage.
If you’re wondering, “When do the rest of us get Moonstone Island mobile,” we’ve got our answer. In response to whether the developers currently have plans to release a standalone app for the mobile version, they replied, “We do not!”
So, at least for the foreseeable future, the mobile version of Moonstone Island will be available only through Crunchyroll. If you’re already an anime fan or see some other great titles in the Game Vault, this may well be excellent news indeed!
Thinking about your first Crunchyroll subscription now that you can play cozy games on mobile while watching cozy anime on the big screen? The Mega Fan level costs $11.99 USD a month, while the Ultimate tier is $15.99 USD. Both tiers include ad-free streaming from the entire Crunchyroll anime library, plus access to the Game Vault and discounts in the Crunchyroll Store.
Now if you’ll excuse me, my 100th rewatch of Fruits Basket while also digging deep into Moonstone Island isn’t going to start itself.
