If you want a little more guidance, we’ve got some recommended titles for you to check out, based on what caught our eye at Bonus Action.

Bonus Action YA Book Picks for November 2024
This is a relatively slow month for new YA releases, but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing exciting on the horizon. Our November picks are both sequels in existing series, exciting for new and returning fans.
Teen Titans: Starfire by Kami Garcia, Illustrated by Gabriel Picolo

- Publisher: DC Comics
- Length: 208 Pages
- Release Date: November 5, 2024
- ARC Received: No
If you grew up loving the Teen Titans show on Cartoon Network, this series reimagining the characters is a real treat. Starfire is technically the third volume, following the stories of Raven and Beast Boy. Since it’s her origin story, you can likely read it as a standalone just fine.
In this version of Starfire’s story, she’s a teenage girl with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, who feels strangely drawn to the stars. When she undergoes an experimental new treatment, she begins exhibiting strange new powers.
Teen Titans: Starfire – $16.99
Serpent Sea by Maiya Ibrahim

- Publisher: Delacourte Press
- Length: 502 Pages
- Release Date: November 19, 2024
- ARC Received: No
Serpent Sea is the follow-up to the widely popular fantasy novel, Spice Road. It continues the story of our heroine, Imani, as she tries to protect the lands from monsters and threats.
To avoid potential spoilers for the first book, we won’t go into much more detail here. Suffice it to say the rich Arabian-inspired fantasy world that Ibrahim paints in this series has kept readers captivated. If you haven’t jumped into this series yet, having two whole books to devour is a great time to start.
Serpent Sea – $19.99
