After much speculation and waiting, Nintendo has confirmed the date for the next Nintendo Direct. On top of that, they’re combining it with another Indie World Showcase.
Fans will get the chance to enjoy an update from Nintendo and their indie partners during the next Indie World Showcase. With speculation about the Switch 2 and a generally quiet season from the gaming giant, anticipation for this showcase is through the roof.

What Time is the August 2024 Nintendo Direct and Indie World Showcase?
According to Nintendo’s official announcement, this combined Nintendo Direct and Indie World Showcase will take place on August 27 at 7 AM PT.
The full broadcast will be 40 minutes, with back-to-back presentations of the Indie World Showcase and a Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase.
Where to Watch the Nintendo Direct and Indie World Showcase?
Nintendo fans can join the dual showcase event via the Nintendo of America YouTube channel. You can head there now and hit the “notify me” button if you need a reminder notification.
The video will debut as a livestream for fans to enjoy it right at launch. It will also be available on their page as a recorded video afterward.
Fans Speculate What Might Be Coming Next for Nintendo
With a keen awareness of the most likely object for fan speculation, Nintendo followed up their announcement with a clarifying message. “Please note, there will be no mention of the Nintendo Switch successor during either of these presentations.” This information is also clearly indicated in the description for the livestream on Nintendo’s YouTube channel.
