The Wholesome Direct is back for 2026 and delivered exactly what it promises every year: a showcase full of games that respect your time, your feelings, and occasionally your willingness to gossip about ghosts. Here are five from this year’s lineup that earned a permanent spot on our wishlists.
Table of Contents
Moonlight Peaks
TL;DR
Little Chicken gives you Dracula as a dad, a haunted cottage to renovate, and 24 supernatural neighbours to romance before the sun comes up

- Release date: July 7, 2026
- Developer: Little Chicken Game Company
- Publisher: XSEED Games / Marvelous Europe
- Platforms: Steam | Switch | Switch 2 | Android
Moonlight Peaks puts you as a vampire trying to prove to Count Dracula that the undead can live with compassion. You move into a haunted cottage, grow things, brew potions, and build relationships with 24 supernatural neighbours.
A new demo dropped at the Wholesome Direct, and it is on Steam now. July 7 is the date, which gives you just enough time to decide whether you are ready to report to Count Dracula’s standards.
Milki Delivery
TL;DR
The Minami Lane developers trade street food for a countryside dairy route and make cycling uphill with a cow feel restorative

- Release date: 2026
- Developer: Blibloop, Doot
- Publisher: Doot Tiny Games, Wholesome Games Presents
- Platforms: Steam
Something happened to all the cows in this countryside, and nobody will tell you what, which is exactly the mystery I want to bicycle through. Blibloop and Doot, who made Minami Lane and Kabuto Park, dropped a playable demo at the Wholesome Direct.
They have said upfront that this is a two-to-three-hour game. I respect that more than I can explain, because not every good thing needs to be long.
Dragon Shelter
TL;DR
Wild Forest Studio gives you a ruined grandfather’s farm, a world where dragons stopped trusting humans, and all the time you need

- Release date: September 24, 2026
- Developer: Wild Forest Studio
- Publisher: Curve Games
- Platforms: Steam
Every farming sim has you inheriting a neglected plot and slowly making it beautiful again. Dragon Shelter has that, but the dragons are the reason it works: each one has its own personality and abilities, and they actually help you restore biomes. They are farmhands instead of furniture.
Wild Forest Studio confirmed September 24 at the Wholesome Direct and put a new demo up the same day. Go find out if you like it!
Momento
TL;DR
Three Australian parents made a room decorator where what you kept at age seven quietly determines whether you end up happy

- Release date: Out now (PC); June 30, 2026 (Switch, Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S)
- Developer: Fat Alien Cat, Nomo Studio
- Publisher: Silver Lining Interactive
- Platforms: Steam | PS5 | Xbox | Switch | Switch 2
Momento shadow-dropped on Steam during the Wholesome Direct, which rewards you for watching live. You decorate a childhood bedroom, choose which objects to keep, and watch those choices ripple through a whole life, across 17 rooms and six endings. Fat Alien Cat and Nomo Studio are three parents from Brisbane, which makes the central question land harder than it has any right to.
Consoles get it on June 30, but we simply cannot wait.
Petal Runner
TL;DR
A Game Boy Color-era solarpunk city on a motorcycle, delivering digital pets powered by flowers, with a corporation that is definitely not hiding anything
Psst! Click this image to get a TL;DR
- Release date: 2026
- Developer: Nano Park Studios
- Publisher: iam8bit Presents
- Platforms: Steam
The pitch for Petal Runner is that you deliver digital pets powered by flowers via motorcycle across a solarpunk city, and that sentence should tell you immediately whether this is your game. If you felt something reading it, Nano Park Studios built the whole thing in Game Boy Color pixel art.
There is a demo on Steam, and the new trailer strongly implies the Flower Corporation is up to something. I have questions, and I want answers.
