A fast-paced whirl of quick humor, anime-styled animations, and colorful environments exploded before my eyes as I boot up the demo for Super Farming Boy.
I’m so impressed I need to double-check and dig deeper into who these developers are. If LemonChili Soft doesn’t sound familiar, it’s because this is their debut game.
Super Farming Boy Doesn’t Care About Farming Sim Clichés

In Super Farming Boy, my jello house ejects me into (super!) child labor, all with my star-shaped mother’s approval, naturally. Off I go to my vibrant farm, tending to cherry-red tomatoes and hot-pink radishes. Soon enough, I’m zipping over to the other end of the farm to harvest some corn and carrots. My jello house grins at me, and I grin back. A few critters join in the work. Maybe this farming gig isn’t so bad after all.
I’m happily carrying a pink crab over my head when, out of nowhere, an unexpected portal appears, unleashing KORPO ®©™, the embodiment of an evil corporation. He’s here to demand a 100% tax on my goods. Goodbye, lovely farm.
He also kidnaps my mom and vacuums up all my crops every night.
This might be too much for our poor Farming Boy, no matter how Super he is, but I digress. Stripped of your powers, farming tools, and mother, you embark on a journey to defeat KORPO ®©™, one crop at a time.
Fortunately, Super Farming Boy isn’t bogged down by lengthy crop growth or a complicated storyline. And you’re not some anonymous hero stumbling into a wishy-washy town this time around.
Based on the demo, Super Farming Boy seems determined to wipe out the tired clichés that have infested cozy farming sims lately. I’m itching to see if it lives up to the hype.
There’s a lot I haven’t covered here: A lively world teeming with stylish characters and merchants, crops that literally come alive, and upgrades bought through randomized cards. But why vacuum all the fun of Super Farming Boy from you? Because I’m not KORPO ®©™ and LemonChili Soft isn’t either, you can try out Super Farming Boy‘s demo for free until July 15.
