Private Division and Weta Workshop have released a new gameplay trailer for Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game and it looks like the perfect combination of the cozy game genre and the wonder of the Shire.
Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game has LotR fans living as a Hobbit from the unofficial town of Bywater. In this cozy adventure, players will need to unite the community, build up the town, and earn the status of an official village of the Shire. The best way to do it is to throw the largest festival in the Shire.
Players Will Dive Into a Colorful, Storybook World
While there won’t be any grand adventures in the Shire, there will be plenty of wholesome day-to-day Hobbit life. As shown in the official trailer, Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game combines the best parts of cozy games with the lore of the Lord of the Rings. In the first true look at gameplay, fans are offered a colorful impression of this lush, idyllic fantasy world.
In the game, players will get to customize their own Hobbit character as well as decorate and furnish the Hobbit holes. They will also develop friendships with their fellow villagers. Like any cozy game, there will be plenty of fishing foraging, cooking, and gardening. I am excited to grow some potatoes. I hear they are perfect for boiling, mashing, and sticking in stews.
Is There a Release Date For Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game
At the time of this writing, there is no official release date for the Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game. However, the release window is currently set for 2024. The game will likely be released in Early Access on Steam, a common practice for modern cozy titles.
The Lord of the Rings is an enormously popular story, and any new way to experience Tolkien’s amazing world is one fans of the series won’t want to miss. A far cry from Return to Moria, this cozy adventure is likely to be a real treat.
