The confirmation of a release date for Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma alongside the reveal of the romance candidates for the game has left fans buzzing with excitement. The new details offer players some insight into NPC personalities and the types of relationships available to players.
Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma will be released on Nintendo Switch on May 30, 2025, making the first new installment since Rune Factory 5. The game has already been celebrated for its upgraded graphics and beautiful art direction, with Rune Factory fans ravenous for release day.
Ahead of the release, information is being shared via trailers and updates from the development team on social media. The most recent trailer gave a more detailed look at gameplay and debuted the cast of romanceable characters that will be part of the story in Guardians of Azuma.
16 Romanceable Characters Are Ready To Hold Your Hand
As seen in the new trailer for Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, players will have the ability to romance 16 different characters. This includes the playable characters for the game.
The trailer also confirmed that LGBTQ+ relationships will again be included in the game, verified by clips of romantic scenes depicting same-sex couples. This is extremely exciting news for fans of the series who have enjoyed the inclusion Marvelous has worked hard to provide in their recent titles.
To learn more about each character players can romance, the Rune Factory official website has added a breakdown of each character in the game. This includes a full-body image of each NPC and a small description of their personality and motives in the game.
While we don’t know much yet about the NPCs and their part to play in the main story, it does seem Guardians of Azuma is set to blow previous romance candidates from other games out of the water. Hopefully, more information will be offered soon, so players excited to jump into this new adventure can learn more about the world and everything it has to offer.
