Disney Dreamlight Valley has a release date for Nintendo Switch 2, giving players a clear timeline for when the life simulation adventure will arrive on Nintendo’s newest console.
The game first launched on Nintendo Switch and other platforms in 2023 and has grown into a fan favorite thanks to its cozy gameplay, world exploration, quests, and continuing content updates featuring classic Disney and Pixar characters.
Developed by Gameloft, Disney Dreamlight Valley blends daily life simulation with light adventure elements, tasking players with restoring a magical world that has fallen into disrepair. Activities range from farming, fishing, and cooking to completing story-driven quests alongside familiar Disney and Pixar characters.
Disney Dreamlight Valley Comes to Nintendo Switch 2 on March 25.
Disney Dreamlight Valley will receive a dedicated Nintendo Switch 2 version on March 25, bringing enhanced performance and features that take advantage of the newer hardware, the developers confirmed during today’s Nintendo Direct presentation. According to the official announcement, players can expect smoother performance, improved visual fidelity, and significantly reduced loading times when exploring the valley.
One of the most notable changes is an increase in the game’s item limit. On Nintendo Switch 2, players will be able to place up to 6,000 items in their valley, doubling the previous cap and allowing for more detailed customization and creative builds. This has been a frequent request from players who enjoy decorating and designing large spaces within the game.

Existing Nintendo Switch players will not be left behind. Owners of Disney Dreamlight Valley on the original Switch will be able to upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 version at no additional cost, with save data fully supported. This means players can continue their progress, including unlocked characters, completed quests, and customized environments, without starting over.
With its Nintendo Switch 2 release date now confirmed, Disney Dreamlight Valley is positioned to reach a wider audience while offering longtime players a more polished way to experience the game. More details are expected closer to launch as Gameloft continues to outline what improvements players can expect when the upgraded version arrives next spring.
