Indie games test the boundaries of development, bringing new concepts for players to enjoy, and the Nintendo Indie World Showcase is the perfect way to find out what titles are on the horizon. After a dry start to the year, the April showcase could finally offer some relief from a lackluster release schedule.

What Time Is the April 2024 Nintendo Indie World Showcase?

According to the official announcement from Nintendo, the Indie World Showcase will take place on April 17 at 1 AM PT. The showcase will be 20 minutes and will cover games slotted for release during the 2024 year.

Where to Watch The Nintendo Indie World Showcase?

Fans can watch the showcase on the Nintendo of America YouTube channel, where the announcements will be streamed live, and then be available to watch as a recorded video following the initial release.

Fans Speculate What Might Be Coming For The Switch

Indie World Showcase speculations have filled the official announcement on Twitter/X, with players begging for updates on titles like Hollow Knight: Silksong and new cozy games. Many have been waiting for updates on Coral Island’s Switch port, though there have been no announcements from the Stairway Games developers on when this might happen.

Others have asked about a Baldur’s Gate 3 port, as Larian is technically an indie studio. However, due to the demands of the game, it is highly unlikely that BG3 will be released on the current iteration of the Switch.

With a general lack of new AAA Nintendo games currently planned for the rest of 2024, many will be relying on indie titles to keep the year interesting. However, this could also be a great time to double back on previous AAA and indie titles from 2023, like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Cattails: A Wild Story, and Roots of Pacha.

Additionally, those who haven’t tried out Sea of Stars or Dredge will want to jump on those while the release waters are relatively calm. While this year hasn’t been off to the same breakneck pace as 2023, there are plenty of games that got lost in the fray to check out, and more to come when the Nintendo Indie World Showcase goes live.
