May passed by in a complete blur of amazing books, and I read more than I have in quite a long time. It’s the unofficial start of summer reading season, even if summer doesn’t technically start until June. This month, it’s all about even more exciting new contemporary romances and cozy goodies.
Typically, I go into a new month with way too many NetGalley review copies on dock. But surprisingly, I didn’t have any lined up for June. That means I got to go hunting around to see what’s coming for this month’s Most Anticipated list while we wait for the absolute banger that is July.
If you like sports romance, good news, because that trend isn’t going anywhere this June. Otherwise, though, it’s an interesting mix, with some new paranormal romance, cozy bookstore vibes, and weirdly a lot of books about necromancy. Here are the books that caught my eye in all the chaos as the most exciting new book releases of June 2026.
Puck by Samantha Allen

- Release Date: June 2nd, 2026
- Price: $17.99 on Amazon
- Publisher: Zando
- ARC Received: No
I love a new twist on a classic story, and a contemporary romance starring a character inspired by Midsummer Night’s Dream’s mischiefmaker, Puck? Yes, please. In this book, Puck is a reality show producer whose life spins out of control when their friend group happens upon some unexpected romantic drama. Naturally, Puck decides to intervene by rearranging a few things… except that the maid of honor for this doomed wedding isn’t exactly happy about Puck’s antics. This sounds chaotic in the best way, and I’m here for it.
Hopeless Necromantic by Shiloh Briar

- Release Date: June 2nd, 2026
- Price: $19.99 on Amazon
- Publisher: Orbit
- ARC Received: No
Is this book largely on this list because I am simply obsessed with the cover? Maybe. I love the combination of mint green and bright pink from the tiefling’s hair. But the premise does sound fun, too. A new recruit must help a necromancer complete the mission he just keeps failing. But of course, they start catching feelings. And there’s apparently a lively skeleton companion third wheel in the mix, too. It’s just weird enough to work.
Samantha Spük: Paranormal Wedding Planner by Aleese Lin

- Release Date: June 2nd, 2026
- Price: $18.99 on Amazon
- Publisher: Saga Press
- ARC Received: Yes
Samantha, aka Sabby, isn’t interested in getting tangled up in her family’s supernatural chaos. But when her grandmother dies, she must return home to Salem, Massachusetts, to sort out the will… and take some odd jobs to make ends meet in the process.
As she finds herself planning weddings for the supernatural residents of Salem, she finds herself pulled into the very chaos she’s been trying to avoid. With a handsome, mysterious man in tow, of course. I love a good spooky romance, especially if it’s set in Salem, so this one is 100% on my list for the month.
Bookstore Girls by Kei Aono, translated by Haydn Trowell

- Release Date: June 2nd, 2026
- Price: $28.95 on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Bookstore-Girls-Novel-Kei-Aono/dp/B0FWZY5CP9/
- Publisher: Pegasus Books
- ARC Received: No
Like many book lovers, I love a good read that centers on other people who also love books. And Bookstore Girls promises just that, with a side of interpersonal conflict. Two colleagues are forever at odds, but must come together when they learn the bookstore they love is at serious risk of shutting down for good. As these two unlikely allies work to save their store, they just might also learn a bit about one another, too.
The Reimagining of Thornwood House by Jaleigh Johnson

- Release Date: June 9th, 2026
- Price: $30.00 on Amazon
- Publisher: Ace
- ARC Received: Yes
A little cozy fantasy to round out our list of June’s most exciting new book releases. This book follows Evelyn Sharpe, a witch who finds herself presented with the opportunity to care for a sentient house. The only problem? This house is grumpy, and it has no interest in letting her in, let alone letting her help it. I do love a good sentient house, and this is giving “Baba Yaga, but make it cozy” vibes.
