Pokémon fans are on the hunt for the next important event material in Pokopia following the start of the Sableye limited-time event. This time, instead of cotton spores, players will need to grab Red Crystals. These rare items only spawn on Dream islands and can be a bit tricky to locate.
The Sableye event is active in Pokopia from April 29, 2026, through May 13, 2026, and introduces Sableye to player islands. Additionally, players can purchase special items from a shop in the Pokémon Center during the event. However, you will need Red Crystals to buy another from Sableye.
In this guide, we will go over everything players need to know to get Red Crystals in Pokopia.
Where to Find Red Crystals in Pokopia

To obtain Red Crystals in Pokopia, players will need to interact with a Poké Doll and summon Drifloon to visit a Dream Island.
Unlike Hoppip’s event, however, Red Crystals aren’t going to spawn all over the map. Instead, they will be tucked into sandy alcoves and caves that can be found on every Dream Island. We recommend visiting the Beach Dream Island using the Pikachu Doll or the Volcanic Dream Island using the Arcanine Doll, as both of these locations are more likely to have the conditions needed to mine Red Crystals.

Once you have arrived at the Dream Island, begin searching for cave openings. These can be tucked into the side of rocky cliffs or carved into the ground as descending ravines. On the Volcanic Dream Island, the cave openings are typically tucked into the raised land mass at the center of the island.

Once you have located a cave, the Red Crystals will typically appear just inside the cave and then spawn back and inside as far as the cavern is deep.
There are typically many cave systems on the Volcanic and Beach Dream Islands, so be sure to look around or dig down into the Dream Islands’ rocky areas to avoid missing any fragments.
How to Mine Red Crystal for Red Crystal Fragments in Pokopia

To mine the Red Crystal nodes in Pokopia, use the Rock Smash Ability. This will smash the Crystal into Red Crystal Fragments that can then be spent as currency at Sableye’s shop.
It can take more work and time to grind the Red Crystal Fragments in comparison to the Spores from the previous event. However, it only takes about 64 fragments to buy one of each item in Sableye’s Shop. Players who explore every cave on each Dream Island can typically grind enough to complete their collections in two Dream Island trips.
Red Crystal Fragments can’t currently be used in any crafting recipes, so it is best to spend them before the Sableye Pokopia event ends, to avoid losing a storage slot to an uneeded material.
