We are officially entering the winter holiday and gifting season. And along with time spent with friends and family exchanging cheer, it also means Black Friday sales are upon us. This year’s kicking off early with Amazon’s Black Friday Week sale, with discounts starting on November 20th and running through Black Friday. If you like to get an early start on your holiday shopping, now is a great time to do exactly that.
I don’t know about you, but the only thing I love more than a good book is a good deal on a good book. When it comes to book shopping, there are plenty of great options, and nothing quite beats browsing the local indie. But if you’re looking for Black Friday book deals, Amazon is hard to beat. This year’s deals are a bit less exciting than in years past, but there are still some solid prices on some great books. Here are some of the best book deals on Amazon during the Black Friday Week sale in 2025.
Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner

Black Friday Price: $8.37 (normally $17) at Amazon
Genre: Memoir
I love a good memoir, and Crying in H Mart is one of the best ones I’ve read in years. It tackles the complexity of grief and mother/daughter relationships beautifully and with a lot of heart. You’ll probably cry and maybe also get a little hungry as Zauner describes her relationship with her mother and how food was such a core part of it.
The paperback deal for Black Friday takes the book down to under $9, which is frankly a steal. The hardcover is also marked down 51% as well if you prefer that format for gifting or for your own collection.
Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin

Black Friday Price: $10.16 (normally $19) at Amazon
Genre: Literary Fiction
Whether you like video games or not, Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow is an absolutely gripping read. But if you’re a lifelong gamer like I am? Perfection. This novel tells the story of two friends who bonded over their love of games and went on to craft an indie classic. But life, and their relationship, get more complicated as the years go by.
Both the paperback and hardcover versions of Tomorrow x3 are on sale for about 50% off. You’re getting the better deal for the hardcover overall, but the paperback is still more affordable at just around $10.
Hamnet by Maggie O’Farrell

Black Friday Price: $12.74 (normally $19) at Amazon
Genre: Literary Fiction
This book is a topical gift for this holiday season thanks to the upcoming movie adaptation, which drops on November 5th. But even without that added buzz, this literary novel is well worth gifting. It explores a fictional account of the life and love of William Shakespeare, along with his struggles in the aftermath of his son’s death.
Only the paperback edition of Hamnet is currently discounted for Black Friday. There are some used hardcover copies from 3rd party sellers that are also marked down, but their condition is unknown, so bear that in mind when gifting.
Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez

Black Friday Price: $8.59 (normally $17.99) on Amazon
Genre: Contemporary Adult Romance
It wouldn’t be a book list from yours truly without at least one Romance pick, but alas, most of my faves aren’t discounted for Black Friday this year. Nevertheless, I’ve got it on good authority that Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez is excellent and a worthy gift for your romance-loving book friend this year. This small town romance has the classic “every girl he dates meets their soulmate right after they break up” setup, with a side of fake dating.
The paperback of Just for the Summer has the steepest Black Friday deal at 52% off. But if you’d rather gift a hardback, that format is also marked down to just over $16 on Amazon.
Dungeons & Dragons: Lore and Legends

Black Friday Price: $17.99 (normally $50) at Amazon
Genre: TTRPG / Coffee Table Book
When it comes to gifting books, there’s nothing quite like a compendium full of art and lore. That’s precisely what you can give your favorite Dungeons & Dragons fans with Dungeons & Dragons: Lore and Legends. This illustrated guide is a comprehensive history of D&D 5e, complete with artwork, interviews, and more. And better still, the book is written by many of the biggest names who have worked on D&D in recent years.
Like many coffee table books, D&D: Lore and Legends exists primarily in hardcover, so that’s the deal we’ve got on offer here. And at 67% off, it’s a pretty solid price for a lofty and beautiful tome like this one.
