Fans were initially devastated by the news that live service for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp was ending. And while the wound still sings, we’ve been given a balm in the form of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete.
This new mobile app, set to replace the old live-service version so fans can keep playing forever, was released today, December 2. It is now available in the app store for new and returning fans to enjoy the Animal Crossing camping life. But unlike the live service version, it’s not free-to-play. Instead of microtransactions, players will now need to pay up front for the game.
If you’re curious about what this paid version includes, we’re breaking down all the features in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete to help you decide if it’s worth the entry price.

How to Get Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete
Like Pocket Camp before it, Pocket Camp Complete is a mobile app. Users can download the game from the Apple or Google app store on their mobile device as of December 2, 2024.

The app requires a one-time paid purchase of $19.99 USD or local equivalent. However, it’s currently on sale for half off as an introductory price from December 2, 2024 – January 30, 2025. If you don’t like the idea of paying $20 for a mobile game but want to continue playing Pocket Camp, definitely take advantage of that early offer and grab it while you can pay just $9.99 USD.
Once you buy and download the app, it’s yours to keep – just like any other paid video game. Simply download as you would any other app, and voila! You’re ready to get started.
If you have a prior save from Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp that you want to transfer, make sure you check out our guide on how to do so before deleting the old app.
What’s Included with Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete?
Given the price point, you might be wondering just what you’re getting with Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete. Here’s a quick overview of what you can expect.
Most Features from the Original Pocket Camp
Whereas the previous version of Pocket Camp included microtransactions to unlock certain features, the paid version will not.
That means that players can access everything the game has to offer as soon as they buy the new Pocket Camp Complete.
Previous & New Events

The app includes everything from the old, live service app. That means every prior event that’s been held over the seven years the game existed. Certain special events, like those including Sanrio Characters, will not be included.
There will also be a few new events to enjoy. From the game’s December 2024 launch through to October 2025, players will encounter some new events to keep things interesting. The exact details for these events haven’t been announced, but it looks like the first one should be taking place this month.
New Friends List Camper Cards

The new paid version will include some new features, including Camper Cards that will update the Friends feature. Players will be able to customize their camper cards, and then share their QR code to add friends in Pocket Camp: Complete.
And yes, for those wondering – your Friends will be transferred if you choose to transfer old save data from your previous game. Friends who haven’t logged into Pocket Camp for 30 days or longer will not be transferred, which is sort of like an auto-cleanup of inactive users.
Custom Content Support
The new version of the game will also support custom-created content from Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
That means users can download custom content for the app just like they would for the Nintendo Switch game, giving you more options to customize your character and camp.
Discontinued Features for Pocket Camp Complete
As the new game isn’t a live service app like the prior version, some of those more live service elements will be going away. The features that will no longer be available in Pocket Camp: Complete include:
- Leaf Tickets – these will not transfer from your old game and will be replaced with Leaf Tokens in the new version, which you’ll earn via gameplay.
- Pocket Camp Club – this online feature is going away entirely. Some features from the subscription will be included in the new version.
- Online Communication with Friends – the game will no longer have a constant data connection, so you can’t sync up online or send gifts but will be able to connect using the new Camper Card QR codes.
In all, the game will mostly enable you to continue enjoying the same old experience, with a few new updates. There will not be any new events after October 2025, but events will continue to cycle on a yearly basis.
